Chapter 8: The secret tunnel
“Nooooo!” cried Lilly. “There must be something we can do”.
“You are right, we have to get out of here” said Christine.
They started rummaging through the bookshelves. “There must be a secret latch to reveal a door anywhere here.” said Christine.
Then Christine heard Lilly squeal. She turned around and found Lilly standing next to a lever, with a book in her hand.
“Chris, come here! I may have found a way out!”
“I am coming! And DON’T CALL ME CHRIS!”
“Christine, just hurry up!”
“Oh Lilly, fine!” said Christine.
She ran over, and gasped at what she saw. “Lilly, I don't think this is a good idea” said Christine. “What if this is another trap for us? You never know what the evil guy has up his sleeve”.
“Aawww, come on Christine, we have got to be brave and take our chances.” said Lilly.
“All right” said Christine. “We’ll do it”.
Lilly pulled the lever down and then the bookcase slid over and revealed a secret passage way. There in front of Lilly and Christine stood a narrow empty tunnel.
