𝕴 𝖑𝖊𝖋𝖙 𝖙𝖍𝖊 others to go to the Defense Against the Dark Arts office, knocking before I entered. Severus was observing the necklace and barely glanced up when I entered and said, "Stay far back Elizabeth."
I sat on top of a desk near the back corner of the room while he looked over the necklace. "I'm surprised you don't already know what it does." I said lightly. "I thought you would have known Draco was going to give it to Katie."
A muscle twitched in his cheek and he said, "I did not know, actually." He said, giving the necklace a prod with the necklace, causing it to ricochet off the desk and hit the wall.
"Oh!" I said, my voice laced with surprise and he heard the surprise in my voice.
He waved his wand again, causing the necklace to soar into the air and drop back into the box which he put in the corner of the room and put a locked lid over it. He finally turned to me. "I know what Draco's supposed to be doing, but I do not know his exact methods. He doesn't trust me anymore."
"I wonder how he got the necklace." I wondered thoughtfully.
"He probably didn't go in and buy it himself." Severus said, sounding perfectly indifferent as he crossed the room towards me, "Also, I'd much rather you didn't put yourself in a position that you could get hurt."
"But I didn't?" I questioned, frowning slightly and tilted my head to one side.
"You could've touched it just as easily." Severus whispered, his fingertips brushing my cheeks. "Katie Bell is lucky to be alive and I'm not going to lose you."
"You already went to the hospital to stop the movement of the curse, right?" I asked, with worried eyes.
"Yes." Severus said, lowering his head just a little more.
I tilted my head up so that our lips were only half an inch apart. "I didn't mean to worry you." I breathed, our lips slightly brushing as I spoke.
He put a finger under my chin and lifted it up so our lips touched completely. "There are. . . other ways to apologize of course."
I grinned, my eyes closed and kissed his lips again. "Well then, let's go up, shall we?" I made to stand up but he'd already scooped me off the desk and I clung to his neck as he walked up the stairs and shut the office door behind him with his foot.

𝕭𝖞 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖓𝖊𝖝𝖙 day, everyone had heard about Katie's curse and knew she had been removed to St. Mungo's. Harry had started this new routine of "Draco's a Death Eater". He was, of course, correct, but I wasn't going to tell him that.
I had stopped Hufflepuff Quidditch practices as both Gryffindor and Slytherin had booked the pitch so much it wasn't worth trying to squeeze in. Besides, I was highly impressed by my newest team. While I'd foreseen a Gryffindor win for the cup- and I wouldn't mind- I didn't doubt that we could change the future and win ourselves.
I found that I didn't mind changing the future as much when it came to Quidditch.
Though I was no longer taking Divination, I made frequent visits to room eleven on the first floor because that was Firenze's room.
Firenze was a Centaur and if it weren't for Centaur prejudices against helping humans or even liking humans, Firenze wouldn't be here. Firenze would be in the forest with his brethren and that was where I'd have been visiting him.
