Back in the Sani Dukku's houshold, Khadijah woke up late from sleep as she didn't sleep at all last night. She normally wasn't one to sleep early but it was different this time as she was busy chatting with Ahmad. Yes they were back to normal now. Scratch that, she didn't show him though. But she weirdly let him occupy her and not let her sleep last night!

She couldn't count the amount of apologies Ahmad had said to her. She felt pity for him. God knew she'd forgiven him ever since they had the talk with Hikmah and she made her reason with him. But the pride she so badly wanted to remove from her mind didn't let him know that she'd forgiven him. Aside the pride, it was more like a punishment from her that he made her look stupid the other day in front of her cousin and Zaliha.

He'd called and texted time without numbers, but she never picked the calls or responded to the texts. She was surprised as to how he got her number but knew instantly that Hikmah gave him her phone number as she saw them together the other day, she also knew he wouldn't have gotten it anywhere else.

But the moment she replied the texts with a mere 'hi', Ahmad somehow got that as a cue that she'd forgiven him and began continuously messaging and calling her, to which she responded to, tired herself for punishing him. She felt it was enough and he'd learnt his lesson.

However, the biggest reason to that was because the person she thought he liked was now married to someone else. So even though he liked her, there was no way she'd be his. So for his own safety, he should know better than chase a married woman. Abubakr would break his bone anyway. She said, chuckling to herself.

But now, things were rightly normal and day by day as they continued to talk, she felt in love with him the more. He was a nice person. He'd told her that he doesn't feel anything for Zaliha and she was out of the picture now. He also said the day he saw her was simply out of shock seeing someone you've long forgotten and cared for then, something she was tired of hearing from him already. Surely there was going to be some emotions you'd express after seeing someone after a very long time. She realized Hikmah was right when she tried to reason with him, but since she was pained by it, she refused to understand that. But now she did. It was jealousy she'd admitted and it was all gone now.

She yawned and stretched her body before glancing at the wall clock which read 1:00pm. Wow! It was zuhr already. No, it was zuhr when she woke up. She stood up and thought since there's still time, she'd bath before praying. She did that and in fifteen minutes time, she was out. She applied her cream and some deodorants before wearing a dress that caught her eyes the moment she opened the wardrobe along with a hijab.

While praying, she seeked both forgiveness, blessings and rewards from her lord and included her family and friends as well. Of course, she didn't forget to include Ahmad in her prayers and even while she was done.
She prayed that God should bless their relationship as it didn't really start smoothly like she dreamed of relationships.

But then, in every relationship, friendship or any sort of connection you have with someone or something, it tend to have slight misunderstandings, issues and arguments. It's inevitable no matter how close you think you're with the person.

She stood up to get lunch as she has clearly skipped breakfast and she'd never be able to eat it by this time, no matter what it is. She found out the new maid had just put down the pot from the cooking gas. Lunch was ready.

"Good afternoon Hajiya Khadijah." She greeted and Khadijah just nodded. She didn't like the fact that a woman in her mid-forty was greeting her and calling her Hajiya at the same time. She was supposed to be the one to greet her, not the other way around. Just because she was working for them doesn't mean she'd take advantage of that.
