It's been a few days since my mother's death anniversary, and my Father still hadn't stopped drinking. He was sobbing to me one night, telling me how horrible he felt... but that hasn't stopped him from taking his aggression out of me. I think it was because he felt bad for putting his hands on me.

I have avoided him by staying in my jeep or at Scott's. I had also been avoiding Derek. I don't think my heart can take it, he makes me so flustered, but I know I don't do the same for him. I needed a little space from him.

"Buddy, did you hurt your arm enough for a splint?" Scott asked. He must have snuck in last night, as I could sleep on his bed.

"Er yeah... I think I just used it too much. I think I got my mother's arthritis,"

"Yeah, that could make sense. You did use your fingers an awful lot yesterday," Scott said, recognizing the splint as his mother's. Stiles began to get up to sleep on the couch in the living room. "No-No, just go back to sleep. It's fine," Scott settled in beside me.

I couldn't help but think about Derek as I tried to go back to sleep. I'd just seen him at pack meetings at Scott's, and then we were pressed for time, so we didn't even have time to greet each other. He had texted me occasionally, but Derek wasn't much of a texter.

Scott and I have talked about my feelings for Derek, he thinks it's cute, and the two packs are getting along slightly better now.

My phone woke me back up as it rang. "Hello?" I didn't recognize the number, but I think it was one of the phones at the Sheriff's station. I hoped it was Derek because sometimes we would have that telepathy to text each other when we are on each other's mind.

"What?" Scott asked when I shot up to sit, rubbing my eyes as my heart pounded.

"My father has..." I couldn't say it without hyperventilating. My Father had been shot while answering a call to a gas station robbery. He was being transferred to Beacon Hills Memorial.

"Living in a town full of fucking supernatural beings, and a coward with a gun murdered my father," I told no one in particular. Melissa stepped forward and pulled me into a comforting hug. I was glad Melissa was at work. I knew she did everything she could to save my Father. Scott wasn't here for some reason. They told us that my Father was pulling through when he got out of surgery, but all his organs shut down.

"Sweetheart, you must stay here... you are too upset to drive. I will get ahold of Scott and tell him to get his ass here," She seemed to know where he was. I decided I didn't want to know as I no longer believed in humanity... I was an orphan now. The only left living person on both my father's and mother's bloodline.

"I am fine... I," I bursted out in tears, "I just need not to be here," I hugged her before walking out to my jeep. I wanted to go home, but I was driving the opposite way...

I get in my jeep and drive to Derek's. I don't want to go alone.
