Something We Can Taco-Bout (3)

"Good morning another boring school day..." I suddenly woke up after remembering that it was Thursday. I wish it was Friday so I could actually talk to Evelyn and the Lunar girl about what they had learned about Valerie's death the next day, but it wasn't and I was stuck with the new book project we were going to start. I glanced at the digital clock and it was 7:30 am. I then stumbled into the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror but there was someone else.
Valerie I thought. When I turned around however, it was just Gold.
"You finally woke up- achoo!" Gold said with a groggy voice.
"Gold! Are you okay?" I sounded like a concerned older sister even though technically Gold would've been the older one since her birthday was in September and mine was on Halloween.
"I'm okay, just feeling a little sick that's all." Gold was definitely not a little sick, you could tell from her voice.
"Press x to doubt. But in all seriousness, you probably should stay home today. It'll save you from feeling worse the next day and having to deal with our new book project Mr. Tacoe is forcing us to do." It wasn't like Mr. Tacoe was a bad teacher, well I mean he kinda is but that's besides the point. I never liked English and books much in general. They were kinda boring in my opinion
"Fine, I'll stay and rest on behalf of Queen Funneh's request. But can you pick up any work so I can do it at home? I don't want to have to talk privately with the teachers while everyone else already knows what to do, it would be embarrassing."
"Sure, I can do that." To be honest, I don't understand how Gold can talk about being embarrassed when she literally twerked with Kyran for the talent show. Gold slowly retreated to her bedroom and I started to brush my teeth. I stared at myself in the mirror. Why was I so concerned about Valerie all of the sudden? It's not like anything new has happened, so why do I feel on edge? Maybe it was because of Kai's dream? Or was it the talk about new info about the case? I just felt as if something was wrong. Something is going on behind the scenes, it's just that none of us can see what it is.

After I finished putting on my clothes, I went down the stairs once again. Because Gold was sick, I wouldn't have to put up with her burnt food. A smirk found itself on my face. I couldn't tell if it was from Gold not cooking or the thought of Gold burning her food but it brought me some ease. I took some eggs out of the refrigerator, made some scrambled eggs, and then poured myself a glass of classic OJ. It was nice to be able to eat something that wasn't entirely burnt for breakfast. After that I wore my backpack and took to the harsh world of school.
"Hey Funneh!" I heard a voice coming from the right of me. It was Kyran, something I probably should've guessed from the beginning. "Where's Gold?"
"Oh Gold? She's currently climbing Mount Everest right now." I let out a mischievous giggle but Kyran wasn't amused. "Okay fine. Gold's sick today, so it's just me and you today! We can finally work on your crush on Gold!" Being able to make fun of Kyran without the restraint of Gold felt nice.
"You know, I'd appreciate it more if you actually tried helping instead of making fun of me." Kyran was probably trying to act cool but you could definitely tell he was blushing. Sometimes, I wonder how Gold can be so oblivious.
"If I feel nice enough by lunch, I'll tell you what I know." I know nothing about love but Kyran somehow knows less than I do so I guess I could try.
"Thanks." Kyran replied. We then started walking. Kyran at some point started talking about some new anime he was watching and I played along, pretending I knew what he was talking about. Then we reached school.
"I have math..." Kyran sighed "Wish me luck." And then he sprinted to his locker. Me on the other hand had to deal with Felicia while trying to not be late to English.

"Good morning! Though I suppose it would be good boring considering how lame you are." Felicia not-so Weisz and Gretchen Wieners wannabe Brittany were trying to cause me trouble.
"Well sorry if some of us can't afford to go shopping everyday." This was a pretty lame comeback, but it gets slightly better. "What did you buy this time? Some new pink balloons to shove up your shirt?" See? It got slightly better.
Felicia gasped, though it was probably just for the dramatic effect. "Actually, I bought this new pink tank top." Felicia showed her tank top off to me with pride. It was so bright that I thought I was going to go blind. Then again, the sight of Felicia could cause anyone to go blind. "Unfortunately it's a bit wrinkled. So I thought that I could go over to you to ask if you could iron it for me since you know, you carry an ironing board everywhere you go." Felicia had a smug look on her face and Brittany was trying to mimic her expression.
"You know, I'd really love to help you out but I'm currently dealing with a rat infestation right in front of me. Oh wait! It's you!" That wiped away Felicia's smug look off and the only thing that was left was her rage.
"Felicia, just leave her, she probably thinks we're mirrors and that she's talking to herself." Brittany told Felicia to help her calm down. Felicia regained her cool but when they left she shot me a dirty look. I guess dirty looks fit dirty people. After that I made my way to English class.
