The next day Kiyotaka had recovered from the majority of the jet lag that he had experienced for the past few days. He was finally beginning to adjust his body to the time zone once again. Looking in the mirror, the uniform for Eden Academy felt odd on himself. He only ever wore casual clothes or his school uniform which was much brighter than that of Eden’s. When he exited his room in his new uniform, there was already breakfast waiting for him on the table. Anya was sitting in front of the television with her school uniform on, seemingly having already eaten and gotten ready just so that she could watch it. Usually she would go on the bus, but it seemed that today the two of them would be driven to Eden Academy by Loid. It made sense seeing as it was his first day. Like a parent dropping off their child for their first day of school. Yor hadn’t left yet and was also busy getting ready.

Kiyotaka finished the meal and brought the plate to the sink to wash it. Afterwards he sat down on the couch and watched TV with Anya while they waited for Loid to take them to school. It was a rerun of a spy TV show, but she seemed just as engaged as someone on their first watch despite knowing half of the words.

After around fifteen minutes, he appeared by the door and put on his coat. “Time to go.” Kiyotaka grabbed his school bag which had been hung up on his chair from earlier and walked out of the door with Anya. Anya seemed extremely happy and excited for Kiyotaka to see the campus, skipping happily on their way to the car. They all got in, with Loid taking the driver’s seat. In Kiyotaka’s opinion, it was odd that different countries drove on different sides of the road. It was like how some countries used the less efficient imperial system instead of the metric system just to make things confusing. It was only a minor detail in the grand scheme of things, but still bothered him slightly nonetheless.

“How are you feeling about your first day at Eden Academy?”

“I’m interested to see the different level of difficulty in comparison to our classes. I’ve also seen pictures of the campus, it’s very extravagant.”

Loid smiled politely into the rear view mirror, “If I were in your shoes I’d be incredibly nervous. I don’t know how you’re keeping calm.”

“Not many things make me nervous.”

They eventually arrived at the grandiose campus. Loid waved the two of them off and Anya spotted one of her friends, immediately dragging her over to meet with Kiyotaka.

“Anya what is it?” The girl had brown hair in pigtails and looked to be around the same age as Anya.

“We have one of the transfer students!”

“Oh, you’re talking about those people from the other school that are going to be here for a month. But he’s an upperclassman, they’re kind of scary aren’t they?”

Anya smiled, “He helped Anya with math!”

The girl whispered something into Anya’s ear with her wide eyes still being focused on Kiyotaka with awe. Anya jumped back slightly and looked back at the girl with shock before turning back to Kiyotaka quickly, and then back to the girl again.

Kiyotaka waved politely, unsure of what the best approach in this situation would be. He wouldn’t have to dwell on it for too long because soon a voice came up behind him.

“Good morning, Ayanokoji-kun!” It was his classmate Kushida Kikyo. Anya’s friend tugged her away and into the school to leave them alone, slightly irritated by the appearance of Kushida for some reason. She greeted him with her usual friendly persona despite the class having learned of her true nature. Keeping up appearances in public would be especially crucial for this special test. She had been growing her hair out for the past few months ever since Horikita came back to school with short hair. It now reached well past her shoulders, but Horikita’s was growing at around the same pace so they were in somewhat of a stalemate at the moment.
