(Graduation day)

Seryeon's pov

Jake and I have been dating, having fun with each other the past few months.

My classmates couldn't be more happy for us. But now, it's our last day here as one class. Everyone will part their separate ways now.

But I'm not so worried because Jake and I got accepted into the same college. Our hard work paid off.

We always offered to help each other when we're struggling with certain subjects, although we may have gotten distracted a few times.

Whatever it is, all of it is over and I'm just glad that he was the one I stuck with in my final year here.

We're now at the hall in our graduation gowns and hats, watching the people collect their scrolls on stage. I'm up next.

I went up with the brightest smile on my face. I bowed and collected my scroll, then posing for the camera. I scanned the crowd for Jake.

Found him.

"JAEYUNNIE, I LOVE YOUU!"
I made a big heart with my arms.

He made a heart back too, jumping up and down. The crowd was left in awe and some teachers even laughed at the scene. I went got off stage and waited for Jake's turn.

Looking at all these students graduating makes me happy, but sad. We've reached the end of the road, together.

But, we're carving out new paths on our own now.

"Okay, please look at the camera"
The teacher said.

Jake smiled for the camera.

"YEONNIE, I LOVE YOU TOO!"
Jake shouted through laughter.

I watched as he ran down the stage towards me.

I stood up and he went in for a bear-like hug. He lifted me up my the waist, spinning me around in the air.

"We did it"
He put me down.

"Together"
I added.

I gave him a kiss on the cheek and he smiled once more. We sat down and I laid my head on his shoulder while we saw the rest of the cohort collect their scrolls.

20 minutes later

We were given some time to eat some food that was prepared by the school and talk to our friends or teachers.

"So I was right. It was the smell of the love in the air"
Ms Yeon sat between Jake and I.

"Yeah"
I chuckled.

It was unbelievable that she could sense something between us.

"But how were you sure about it back then?"
Jake asked.

"It's really not hard to tell. But I did see you two in the classrooms together every recess"
She smiled.

"You were stalking us?"
My jaw dropped.

"No, I just happen to see it. And those reports sounded more personal than objective. You guys should see each other's"
She looked to me and Jake.

I felt embarrassed and so did Jake.

"You two kind of remind me of my own love story"
Ms Yeon said..

"Tell us!"
Jake and I said in sync.

She chortled.

"My husband and I also met in high school. We were both smart, yet quiet. He's exactly like Jake"

"Very cold, but after I got to know him, he was kind and warm. Then..I fell in love"

-Ms Yeon

"Does your heart flutter around your husband too?"
I questioned.

"Of course. It's something everyone will feel these chemicals when they're with someone they love"
Ms Yeon replied.

"I really can't imagine you having this kiddish love story"
Jake said.

"Same..but teachers also have their own love life"
I shrugged.

"Mm. By the way, can I take a picture with you two? I might miss you both a lot"
Ms Yeon took out her phone.

Jake and I sat closer to her and we posed for the camera. It was wholesome, having a teacher who's built a bond with you.

She might be my favourite teacher too.

"Send it to me too. I think I'll miss you too, Ms Yeon"
I looked at the picture.

She nodded and did so.

"Thank you for teaching us, Ms Yeon. You're a fun person, but you still teach us well"
Jake thanked her.

"No problem. Just make sure to invite me to your wedding in the future"
Her eyes lit up.

I made eye contact with Jake. Our cheeks reddened and Ms Yeon laughed, amused by our reaction.

"Okay, I'll leave you two now. See you soon"
She left us alone.

"Ms Yeon likes to poke fun with us a lot"
I told Jake.

"But you're still more fun"
He interlocked our hands.

"Wow, thank you"
I faked a smile at his teasing.

"But, Jaeyun. Isn't it quite amazing that we even ended up together?"
I turned back to my normal voice.

"A little. I never expected to date anyone in high school. But someone named Yeonnie came along"
Jake brought his face closer to me.

"Gosh"
I looked away.

"But in all honesty, I think if it weren't for that physics project, I would have never talked to you"
Jake leaned his head on my shoulder.

"And if it weren't for those chemistry dates, I wouldn't have known this version of you"
I replied.

We giggled.

"Let's stay together for a long time, Ahn Seryeon"
Jake gave my hand a little squeeze.

A soft smile just grew on my face.

What if those projects never happened?

I would have never had a friend.

I would probably struggle with my physics.

I would have no one to hug on rainy days.

Jake would have never had a friend.

Jake would probably struggle with chemistry.

Jake wouldn't even know what a hug full of love is like.

But through our physical chemistry, we've learnt everything.

"Let's stay together for a long time, Sim Jaeyun"
I leaned my head against his.
