Chapter 25 - Warm

Ang ingay.

Sabrina didn't really announce that the sudden event was about me and Heat, and just covered it up by saying that it's her treat for all the campers—and everyone just bought it. Pero masama pa rin ang loob ko. Ewan, hindi lang yata talaga ako sanay na masaya ang lahat sa paligid.

The booths were a hit. Kulang na nga lang ng mga extreme rides, mukha nang carnival ang field ng Camp Mitesco. We didn't have the strict dinner schedule that night too but to make sure that everyone had time to eat, the band didn't start performing until 7 PM.

Everyone jumped to every song that they played. It was like a rave party. Well that's until they changed the genre and played slow music.

Nagtilian ang mga babae.

Lalo lang akong nayamot.

Doon lang nagsilabasan ang mga magkakarelasyon pala sa loob ng Camp Mitesco. I gotta say that they're all really good at hiding because I don't think I've ever seen couples during daily activities—or maybe that's because I never really payed attention to them before.

Sa isang tao lang naman palaging nakatuon ang atensyon ko. Kaya nga rinig na rinig ko noong may tumili at nagbanggit ng pangalan niya.

"OMG! Yayayain ba ni Kuya Heat si Ate Flame?!"

Hindi.

"Girl, kinikilig na ako kaagad!"

Tsk.

"Ayon si Kuya Heat!"

"Hala, palapit ba siya kay Ate Flame?!"

My eyes followed where the girls where pointing at and I saw Heat who seemed to be looking for something or someone—I don't know. I mean, I know we're already together and that he told me he's mine. But if I'd be caught up in the same situation wherein everyone expects me to do something, I'd do it even if I don't want to. That's how I've always been.

So I won't blame him if he asks Flame to dance.

But it would hurt to watch. So, I turned around and walked away.

I was almost out of the huge crowd when the vocalist of the band on stage suddenly stopped singing. The girls started squealing more intense than earlier.

"Winter Elison!"

I automatically stopped walking when I realized that it was Heat's voice that I was hearing from the speakers around the field. Lumingon ako sa stage at nakitang nandoon nga siya—inagawan ng mic ang vocalist ng banda—at ngiting-ngiting nakatingin sa direksyon ko.

Just like that, all eyes were on me.

I would've panicked, but I was looking at Heat Mendez.

"I love you!" sigaw niya sa mic na naging dahilan ng mga hiyawan—except for those girls who were looking for him earlier, which were visibly confused as they stared at me.

Napailing na lang ako habang pinipigilan ang ngiti ko. Papansin talaga ang siraulo.

"Sana all, ibino-broadcast!" Billy suddenly appeared on my back and tapped me on my shoulder. Naialis ko tuloy ang tingin kay Heat at paglingon ko ulit sa stage, wala na siya ro'n. Umepal lang talaga si gago saglit ta's nawala na.
