Brian held the map, while Jayden drove the Supra down the highway."Civics are stashed somewhere outside of Thermal." She told him, focusing on the road.
"And they wouldn't double back. And Highway 10 is just way too well patrolled."
"You would know, wouldn't you?" She mumbled.
Brian sighed, placing his hand on her thigh, paying attention to how she stiffened up and looked back down at the map.
"So, I guess that leaves us with all of this." He said still focusing on the map.
He looked back up at her and then opened up his phone, "Yeah, this is Officer Brian O'Connor. Serial number 34762. I need a cellphone trace."
"Baby, what's his cellphone number?"
Jayden hesitated for a second.
"Come on, Jay. She needs Dom's cellphone number now." He said handing her the phone.
Jayden had tears in her eyes as she said, "323-555-6439."
Brian took the phone back, "Thank you, Baby. Yeah, you get that?"
Jayden drove for what felt like days, the lines on the roads started to get blurred.
Brian's phone suddenly rang, "Yeah? Okay, thanks." he hung up, looking back down at the map.
"All right, I think we are about forty miles away."
"What are you gonna do?" Jayden asked him.
Brian didn't say anything, just stared at her.
