jayden and brian's placeJayden lay in bed, reading her book, when Brian came in drying his hair with a towel.
Brian tossed the towel into their dirty hamper and made his way over to his side of the bed.
He took his arms and wrapped them around Jayden's waist, laying his head in her lap.
"Does someone need attention?" She chuckled setting her book down on the nightstand.
He looked up at her with puppy dog eyes, "Maybe."
Jayden sighed with a smile and ran her hands through his hair.
His curls weren't as long as they used to be.
It was tough for Jayden to admit that she wasn't a fan of his new hair, but as long as Brian was happy, that was all she cared about.
Brian's eyes started to get heavier, barely awake when his phone started buzzing.
He groaned taking it from his pocket, "It's the station." He told her confused, as she kept playing with his hair.
Jayden listened intently to what he was saying.
"Yeah, it's me."
"Uh-huh."
"Yeah."
"Uh huh—" Brian sat up, "Wait what?!?"
"Are you sure?"
"Okay, thank you, bye." Brian hung up the phone with a solemn look on his face.
"What is it, pretty boy?"
Brian sat up next to her, "Letty's been murdered."
Jayden felt her heart drop to her stomach in agony.
Her friend whom she hadn't spoken to in years. DEAD.
She didn't know what to do, what to think, she forgot how to breathe for a second.
"Brian?"
"Baby?" He responded in a whisper.
"Get my meds, please." She said as she started to hyperventilate.
Brian shot right up, running to their bathroom cabinet to get her meds.
He took the cup of water that sat on his side of the bed and handed it to her, along with her pill.
