Y/n ran into the dorm building at nearly deadly speeds. They ran into a couple classmates, but they didn't know who since they were going to fast to see much more than blurs of color. Once Y/n finally reached the common room the halted and relaxed when they saw that Mina was running later than they were. Exhausted from their training session with Bakugo, they plopped down on the nearest couch and waited for their friend to arrive.
"Y/n! Sorry I'm late," the pink-haired teen apologized, rubbing the back of her neck,"I lost track of time."
"It's fine, Mina. I needed the rest after training, anyway. It's not easy beating Katsuki."
"Tell me all about it once we get to the cafe. I'm thirsty for a mocha," Mina laughed. The two friends walked off of the school grounds and headed down the street to the cafe. Once they arrived, they ordered their drinks and sat down by a window. While Y/n was window watching, sipping on their f/d, they noticed a strange figure with white hair and a black hoodie enter the cafe. They watched the stranger with an unexplainable facination. Y/n only realized that the man was coming toward their table when Mina whispered, "why is that guy coming towards us?"
"I don't know. Just act like you don't see him and maybe he'll leave us alone," Y/n whispered back. Unfortunately, they were wrong. The man got closer until he was right next to Y/n.
"Hey, you're Y/n, right?" the strange man asked suddenly.
"Um, yes. How do you know my name?" they asked cautiously, unsure of what to make of the man's cold, child-like voice.
"I'm DustyFingers123, your gaming... friend I guess you could say," he said. It wasn't what Dusty said that creeped Y/n out, but how he said it. The word seemed almost like a lie coming from the man's chapped lips. Despite all that, Y/n decided that he was trustworthy.
"Oh! Sorry I didn't recognize you. I haven't seen or heard you before. It's a coincidence running into you here," they said, all suspicions washing away.
"It is. Could I talk to you? I would like to discuss some... gaming strategies for next week's session."
"Sure. That's a good idea. I'll be back soon, Mina," Y/n said as they stood up. They followed their gaming buddy out of the cafe and into an alleyway.
"Why are we here? We could've just done this outside the cafe," Y/n stated, confused by Dusty's choice of location for something as simple as strategies for a video game.
"I just wanted a bit of privacy," he stated, "But this isn't quite as private as I would like." He drew closer to Y/n.
"This is fine, really," Y/n protested, backed into a corner, "We can talk right here." They felt threatend, but since the man hadn't tried to harm them, Y/n couldn't use their quirk in self-defence. They could, however, read his mind.
This damn brat, Dusty thought, Why won't these UA kids make things easy?!
So he knows where I'm from, and he wants something from me, Y/n noticed. They were left with more questions than answers at this point, and Dusty had gotten much closer. He stretched out his arm, enclosing four of his fingers around Y/n's wrist. Finally having a reason to attack, Y/n swung their other arm around and punched the white-haired man in the jaw. Unfortunately, he was still blocking the way into the busy street. Y/n ran further into the alley, hoping to lose him after a few twists and turns. They ran further and further into the alleyways before reaching a dead-end. Thinking they were finally safe, Y/n sat down and reached into their pocket for their phone. They found nothing.
Crap! they thought, panicked. Y/n stood up and started rumaging through all their pockets repeatedly. After they searched each pocket at least 3 times, they realized they must have left it on the table in the cafe.
No no no no NO! I left my phone with Mina! I can't call for help, Dusty's probably looking for me, and I'm too tired from all that running to do anything but stay here. They sat down onto a crate they saw and tried to think about their limited options when the heard the clacking of shoes close to the corner. Y/n knew they couldn't run or fight anymore, so they slipped off the crate and curled up behind it, hiding in it's deep shadow. The tapping grew louder, signaling that the man arrived.
"Where is this kid, Kurogiri? I'm getting tired of this stupid game," the man whined.
Kurogiri? Where have I heard that name before? Y/n thought, searching their brain for answers.
"They can't be far. This is the last possible place they could be," another voice answered, likely belonging to the man Dusty complained to moments prior. "Just start searching."
The footsteps began again, drawing ever closer to Y/n's hiding spot. Sweat dripped down the student's forehead. One of the men seemed to be right behind them. Y/n closed their eyes, wishing for this to be a bad dream. Clack clack clack, the footsteps sounded through the alley, louder by the second. Then suddenly, silence. Y/n cautiously opened their eyes to find red ones peering into theirs.
"Found you," the white-haired man said.
