"It wasn't expected from her, at least."
"But we can't blame her, can we? At least she tried!"
"Yeah? Is that what she studied for?" She raised a brow.
He sighed, looking at the ground tile.
"Maybe this is just a phase? After all, the end matters!"
Dad seemed to understand.
Not Mom.
She only points out my mistakes.
Does she think that it is the 10th grade? Start studying a month before and you can still do great.
Mothers, or more like 'my mother' particularly.
She's the reason why I'm wandering all alone now.
(a/n: hey indian fam! i know that this isn't how you leave your house randomly and stuff here in our country, so you might be surprised. but please cooperate, for the sake of this book.)
Little did I realise that I was around the Sports Complex in our neighbourhood!
It was summer, and seeing people around you sweaty was obvious.
As I went closer to the basketball court, things got even worse.
"Stinky!" I mumbled.
The room was filled with players in a uniform, coaches and spectators.
Among the crowd, one guy caught my attention.
A white jersey, practically drenched, revealing his huge biceps.
Wet, messy hair.
Tired but mischievous eyes.
Dirty shoes, he had.
The moment it hit my senses that I was staring at him, even if with disgust, I quickly looked away.
"Hey", I turned behind to look at a muscular, tall man, probably in his twenties.
"H-"
"What are you doing here? Wait, first of all, who are you?" He spoke with aggression.
The whole crowd turned their heads towards me.
Embarrassing.
"I-" I had no words.
"A-Actually I, I was walking around, so I just came t-to check in."
Oh lord, kill me.
He was their coach probably.
He angry-eyed me.
I didn't know how to react.
"Hey, is this a friend's house that you came to check in?" He said, with a stern look.
The whole room bursted out laughing.
How do I jump off a cliff?
"N-No, but is th-there a problem? Is this room prohibi-"
"Get. Out."
I didn't move.
I hated being here but my legs fucking didn't move!
Finally mustering up some courage,"I'm so sorry for barging in." And I left.
I ran.
But, no.
"Wait! Girl!"
I didn't want to.
I turned back. And to my surprise, it wasn't the coach, but the stinky man.
"What?" I asked, as he came closer.
He panted.
"Don't mind him." He said.
"N-No." I couldn't bear the smell.
"He is kind of hot headed. And he was angry because he thought that you're from the rival team, spying on us. We have a match soon, so..."
"Oh. It's okay."
"Are you?"
"Hm?" I asked.
Little did I know that tears already filled my eyes and were threatening to fall at any moment soon.
"I mean, your eyes. Are you okay?"
No.
After a moment of silence, and controlling those tears, I said, "Yeah, I'm fine. Bye."
He took a quick glance.
"Okay. Bye", he looked into my eyes with mischief in his and said, "Dear crybaby."
I rolled my eyes and just left.
I wasn't in the mood to reply back to a random stranger teasing me.
Anything else, God?
First, my marks and rank! Then, mom who yelled at me the whole while.
Next, the most embarrassing basketball court moment in my life.
I thought that stinky guy cared, but nah. It ended with an annoying nickname!
butterflies, a zero.
a wave...of? heat?
my head, my delusional vision, a pegasus!
the stars, oh so peaceful.

Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Also, irl my mom isn't this way. She is extremely supportive and I'm lucky to have her!
Plus, I would want to mention again that this might be a story in India, but this doesn't exactly represent India. Look at the language duh! Nvm, this is all for the sake of a fanfic so chill!
