Chapter 2

"Two years!"

"Two years and you made it, finally." He added.

"Most did, sir." The guy beside me mumbled.

He had put on a white sports jersey.

And stinked? But I couldn't get the smell.

Well, he was sweating!

"Sadly, only you couldn't."

Who?

The whole room turned back to see me.

They were whispering among themselves, and were they giggling seeing me?

The man pointed a finger at me and said, "It's useless to spend time, energy and money on you."

He looked disappointed.

Everyone scored well. Their marks were displayed on their foreheads.

I knew them.

They were my friends from the coaching institute I was preparing for JEE from.

And I turned beside to see the same stinky man looking at me with a grin.

He handed over a mirror to me.

I took a glance, and oh the nightmare.

I terribly failed.

An oval-shaped number right on my forehead.

"Get up!"

"I am awake."

"Crybaby?"

Where am I?

I slowly open my eyes.

I was in a small room, with blue-painted walls.

As I come back to my senses, I see the same guy who handed me the mirror.

Dream of the devil.

"So you're awake!"

"Where am I?"

"You fainted."

Oh, this is why.

"Hey, Cry babe sounds hot."

What? Hot?

"Why don't you jump off a cliff, you filthy animal!"

"I saved you."

"I wouldn't die anyway."

"That's mean." He pouted.

"I'm going. You stink a lot."

"Cry babe, you faint a lot."

"A lot? When did you ever see me fainting?"

He looked at me with defeated eyes.

I think I won the argument?

"Um, bye?"

Totally.

"Bye." I chuckled at his pout.

I left the room immediately.

*time skip*

I'm glad that I came back before it was dark for if I wouldn't, my mom would chop me.

Literally.

I opened my Chemistry book and compared the answer key to the text.

I got 14/100.

The total was 71/300.

28 in Maths and 29 in Physics.

I expected to score low in Maths, but never in my dreams that I expected to score low in subjects like Physics and Chemistry.

My mom talked to my mentor.

He was our Mathematics teacher.

During 10th grade, I used to score well even without studying for the tests.

Also, I did work 5 times more than I did in grade 10.

Where did it go wrong?

I think I must work harder.

How can I lose?
