please remember to bear with me on these first two chapters. it gets better i promise! also it randomly switches to first person because it was originally in first person and i got lazy. this whole chapter is incredibly embarrassing. honestly just skim through it.
Alouette
laughter.
laughter is all i hear. though i can't see anything, my sense of hearing is heightened, the laughs clogging my brain. my sense of taste is all blood, biting down on my tongue to keep my sobs in.
"I- I- I'm s-sorry!" i exclaim. but they continue to laugh, i can't see them but they can see me. my shaking body. my cold body.
then, my sense of touch. i feel hands roaming me, touching me in places they shouldn't be touching.

"Uhm.. helloooo?" a costumer waves in front of her face, snapping her out of my thoughts. She looks her up and down before looking over to her friend before pressing her lips together in a line, trying to keep herself from laughing.
looking up quickly, alouette shakes her thoughts away, rubbing her hands down the apron covering her. "so-s-sorry, i ha-have a stutter, how may i-i help you?" she silently prays that the girl just says what she wants. as people like this can be trouble for alouette.
her boss tells her to tell people she has a stutter in advance but it just makes things harder. she was pretty sure they catch on just hearing her stupid voice talk. gosh, she hated herself. so stinkin' much.
well now she's sad.
"i waaannt... hmm.. i don't know." she taps her chin in fake curiosity. "that's okay," alouette smiles. "take yo-your time." even she had some trouble knowing what to get and she worked here.
alouette turns to her friend, smiling gently to silently ask what she wants. catching on, she tells alouette she wants a simple iced coffee. punching it in, she asks her name.
eventually, she has both girls orders and names, so she heads to the back room for employees, leaving freddy to make their drinks. "alouette!" she hears coming from a far corner.
quickly recognizing the voice as her boss, immediately her heart races. he never wanted anything good. "y-yes?" she answers as she gets to him.
"still got that stutter huh?" he asks stupidly, reaching for her hand. "i-i had.. had it yes... yesterday, and so o-on." she said, not being able to focus as he grabbed her hand, rubbing his fingers in-between hers.
this doggone stutter always giving her unwanted attention. why couldn't she just be normal?
"well i wouldn't get smart with me," he whispers roughly, yanking her hair. "right alouette? you wouldn't want to get fired would you? or a repeat of last time?"
she whimpers in discomfort, reaching for his hand to pull it off. "p-please s-s-st-stop!" she exclaimed, trying to pry his hand off.
using his other hand, he grips both her wrists behind my back, "i would save that pretty voice for later, you're closing." he spat, shoving her head slightly when he roughly let go of her, walking away. but she couldn't close. she couldn't do it again.
