✨Sophie✨
"We need to see Wylie." Sophie, Fitz, and Keefe headed upstairs to the leapmaster. Dozens of thoughts swirled around her brain, packed with thoughts about the Inquisition, Wylie, and Keefe.
Her overdue confession to Keefe had lifted a huge weight off her shoulders. She no longer worried about his feelings, or missinterpteting his actions. She knew because of Ro that he had liked her for a LONG time.
"Solreef!" Fitz called out. A crystal lowered, catching the light of the setting sun. They stepped towards the light, Sophie in the back. She was the last one to go into the beam of light, when out of the corner of her eye, she saw a blinding flash of light and a hand grab hers, holding her back.
"Shhhhh." Sophie heard the sound of a woman's voice as the light dimmed. Before she could call out or inflict, a hand reached out and touched her forehead.
The world around her spun. It felt like she was being dragged and pulled in every direction. Or like being on a plane taking off. Her vision spun one last time then found herself in a clearing in a forest. Tall, dark trees blocked out the fading evening light, and she stood a few steps away from a small river.
Sophie reached towards a dagger or throwing star, but realized she still was wearing her tunic without pockets. She grunted in frustration and quickly looked around. Leaning against a tree casually was a woman in a beautiful, long white dress. She had chocolate brown hair. Most importantly though, she wasn't wearing a black Never seen cloak.
"Who are you?" Sophie demanded, taking a few cautious steps towards the woman. "Where am I?"
"Well, I'm Hera, of course," she said with a dramatic flair of her hand. Hera pushed off the tree and walked gracefully towards Sophie, her beautiful white gown flowing around her feet. She stopped directly in front of Sophie, a head taller. "As for the where, well, you'll figure that out soon enough."
Loud cheers cut Hera off, and Sophie turned towards the sound. She could see what seemed to be dozens of people running in her direction, glints of metal shining through the trees.
"What-" Sophie turned back to Hera, who was holding her registry pendant, home crystal, and panic switch.
"Good luck!" Hera winked and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
"Great", Sophie muttered. She quickly turned back to the approaching people right as they entered the clearing. She could not believe her eyes as she saw the wide assortment of bizarre beings in front of her. In the lead was a half-human, half-horse, centaur, Sophie remembered. Most of the others were teenagers in an odd mix of armor, swords, T-shirts, and jeans. There were also satyrs, a cyclops, and several small elfish beings. Not the elves that Sophie knew, but the stereotypical short ones with pointy ears.
Next to the centaur was a teenage girl with curly blond hair, a blue cap and a dagger in her hands. "Chiron?" She asked the centaur.
Chiron? Sophie thought. Something pricked at the back of her mind. Old lessons from High School.
The centaur-Chiron- cantered towards her, bow drawn but pointing downwards. "Who are you, child? Where do you come from?"
"S-sophie." She replied. Her eyes wide and terrified. She wasn't about to tell them what she was or where she came from though. "Where am I?"
"This is Camp Half-Blood." Chiron answered.
"Chiron, I don't think-" the blond girl tried to interject, but Chiron cut her off.
"It's fine," he said. "She is obviously a demigod, otherwise how would she get through the border? Everyone, continue the game. You too, Annabeth. I'll take our friend here to the Big House." Chiron motioned to Sophie to follow him and he started walking through the crowd. As Sophie walked, she could feel everyone staring at her with varying degrees of suspicion and curiosity. She pulled her hair in front to hide behind.
Chiron led Sophie away from the forest and into a valley with several cabins decorated very strangely. It was dark now, but she could make out a lake, a field with some type of plant, and a climbing wall with, was that lava?
Chiron entered a large farmhouse. It had several stories, like the kind of farmhouse the rich families had. Chiron stooped down to not hit the ceiling, and walked over to a wheelchair with a blanket on it. He turned around and started... Backing up. Sophie watched in fascination as he carefully backed into the wheelchair, then settling when his horse half was completely in the wheelchair.
Chiron gestured to a chair across from him. A lit fireplace emanated heat, warming her. Sophie sank down into the chair, only to jump back up when a stuffed leopards head above the fireplace yawned and sniffed the air.
"What. Is. That?" Sophie asked quietly.
"Oh, that's Seymour. He's harmless." Chiron waved it off with a dismissive gesture. "Now. Why don't you sit down and tell me everything, Sophie Foster."
