ROWAN AWOKE TO COMPLETE DARKNESS.

It was eerily quiet, but the stench surrounding her filled her senses.

It was all too familiar. The stench of antiseptic, was she in some sort of hospital? The men were smart enough to knock her out before she could get an inkling of where they were taking her. As she started to come more to her senses, she realized how dangerous her situation was.

A hood covered her head, a gag binding her mouth, the rope tearing into her cheek. Her arms were tied up, by duct tape she guessed, the bounds held in tightly. All she knew was that 4 men had taken her here, how many more men were there? It seemed for now, she was alone. But how long would that last?

In attempts to get out of her bindings, Rowan immediately wiggled her arms and hands around first. Rope would've been a smarter choice, but the tape proved to be quite the challenge. The tape squeaked as she moved her arms up and down, side to side, all in attempts to wiggle free of her binds.

CLINK! CLINK!

Someone was coming, keys jingled in their hold as they approached the entrance. Time of the essence, she  ripped herself free, but whoever was on the other side of the door was about to unlock it. Quickly, Rowan pulled the gag from her mouth, allowing her to breath normally, but she left the hood on.

The door opened just as she put her hands back behind her, and the heavy stomp of a man's boots suddenly came closer. And closer... and closer, right until they were standing in front of her. The man paused for a second, then reached forward to remove the fabric covering her head.

Immediately Rowan pounced forward, the stark light of the room blinding her as she leapt for the man. Her hands free, she swung at his face, scratching the guy across his eye and cheek. The man cried out in pain, stumbling back as Rowan shoved him out of the way and went running.

She had just made it past the door when the man had crashed into something, the noise ringing throughout the hall.

"SHE'S ESCAPED!" He cried, but Rowan was already hurrying down the hall.

Voices upon voices rang out in shock, shuffling feet coming from around the corner. The hallway was long and narrow, a door leading outside at the very end until the path turned sharply left. Rowan had no idea which way the men were coming, but that door was her one escape so she went for it. The doorknob was in her grasp, she had just barely turned it when someone gripped her around the waist, yanking her backwards.

"NO—" she called, struggling in the persons hold, before a white cloth was shoved in her face.

Her body went limp, and that one chance of escape....
slowly started to fade from view.
