Bokuto wasn't a great liar, and you knew this. At the beginning of the whole mess, you thought about being honest with him about that you knew, but you decided to give Bokuto the chance to admit it himself. And eventually, it worked. Bokuto broke when you were right outside of the police station. When you tried opening the door, he screamed at you to wait and so you did.

Bokuto burst into a dramatic dialogue that included tears, and a lot of gestures toward the sky. It was a little funny (not that anyone would know you were enjoying the scene because your face was so blank) but you stopped him.

"I know, Bokuto. You lost Teddy, didn't you?"
Bokuto wailed more and dropped to his knees.
"I'm so sorry, Y/n! I looked away for a second and he'd chewed through the leash!"
"Yes, I forgot to warn you about that," you said.
