chapter one
it was a cold and rainy saturday afternoon. these were the best days to you because it meant a sense of melancholy. a day where nothing really mattered, you were free to do whatever with your spare time without the burden of an otherwise beautiful day shining above you.
a day to yourself. no burden.
you loved spending alone time and rain meant just that. it meant that training wasn't an option.
"y/n?" your mother asked. she stared at you with her head tilted to the side. "I've been calling out to you for five minutes now."
"I'm sorry!" you apologized, bowed your head and rushed toward her side.
"we've talked about this. make sure that never happens again." she stated quite seriously as she returned to chopping up vegetables for dinner that night. "I need you to walk on over to the store to grab some carrots. we seem to be out."
your mother was never fond of your rudeness. your uncontrollable urge to zone out at any given moment. she knew you were prone to it, yet she didn't care.
"of course mother." you said as she pointed at her purse for you to grab some money. you grabbed the first thing you felt and walked over to the front door to put on your shoes and to grab an umbrella.
you opened the door and looked back at her, "I'll be back!" you said enthusiastically. this was only to be returned by complete silence.
you had gotten used to your mothers coldness over the course of your short existence by that point so that was nothing surprising.
you waved at her as if she had been paying you any attention and set off on your errand.
the nearest store was a mere five minutes away by train, so you decided not to use it and instead made a walk for it.
