chapter seven
you and your classmates all gather in the monitoring room, ready to view the first match.
"we know who's gonna win here." you say while you rub your elbow nervously, "midoriya can't control his quirk... as odd as it is, and uraraka gets sick because of hers." you pay close attention as they both walk down a long hallway cautiously.
"and iida and bakugo seem to have a good understanding of where they stand." todoroki says, not taking his eyes off the large screen. "though it looks like bakugo isn't much of a team player." he says as he points at the screen that shows bakugo walking away from iida after talking to him for about two seconds.
"no, he seems determined." your tone holding a sense of defense.
todoroki peers his eyes off of the screen long enough to stare at you, which you feel from just his presence alone. "what?" you ask as you turn and face him.
"do you like bakugo?" he asks... quite seriously.
your eyes widen and heat begins to radiate throughout your entire face, making your eyes burn, "no! that's not it at all!" you say as you wave your hands in front of you and try to hide your face with your arm, "why would you ask that?"
he looks at you for what feels like a minute and then quickly looks back at the screen, "you seem to talk about him a lot."
you start to say something but before you can, you recall the walk home from school yesterday. the one that consisted of you talking on and on about a certain someone, not really allowing todoroki to get a word in.
"I'm intimidated by him is all." you say, placing your arms at your sides and try to regain your composure.
suddenly bakugo rounds a corner and blasts midoriya in the face, in which he dodges but loses half his mask in the process.
