She trailed the blade along the boy's collarbone, gleefully widening her smile as she saw his breath hitch and his hands tremble. Her eyes were crazed and manic like a businessman clutching his money. Her eyes had a strange, and unrestrained expression as she tilted her head and licked her lips. She circled him with the blade as he was on the floor then took a step back and tapped her feet impatiently

"Stand up, Kaito. At least make killing you somewhat entertaining" she commanded with a face of badly contained glee. Kaito lay on the floor, beneath her and near her feet. His sword was on the floor, face down

He stood up and held it again. This time he wasn't going to be the weak one- this time he would win. He charged straight torwards her and looked into her burning match-like eyes and she looked straight at him back.

"Crystal Bullets," Kaito said as a dozen sharp rhombus crystals appeared behind him and were launched straight at the woman. He ran forward to try to stab her, to overwhelm her but she used her haki in a deadly counterattack, widening the gap between her and him

She was Yui- her to Kaito but to anyone else? So much more. She had the appearance of an angel and her mere existence was a paradox. Her eyes were slanted as if carefully crafted by the hand of God and radiating warmth and positivity in every gaze. Her voice was like honey and lavender-scented candles, smooth to hear and that voice intoxicated men.  Women liked to gossip about her and were so intimately jealous of each other that it was as if they knew the bejewelled woman

They did not. The talk of the towns made the jealous even more jealous and the kind and faithful eager to meet this magical woman. And Yui did everything to push that narrative- choosing to spend her holidays roaming the seas and engaging in acts of external kindness. Children would be graced and humbled to be in her presence and her beaming smiles re-inforced that false dawn of hope

She worked as a Marine General, slowly rising to the ranks of Admiral, slowly digging her roots into the Marines and poisoning them. She had grown too powerful like a weed and was unremovable. The influence of anyone famous and beautiful shouldn't be ignored. It should be carefully contained and extinguished at any cost.  The keen-eyed women who lived around her ran circles around Yui, trying to find blemishes or any marks of ageing rather than blood on her hand

She soon became a figure of power, and various men would try to take her as their wife. She declined and kept herself open as an option and this would prove to be her checkmate. She was hereby declared, the "Queen of Hearts" and she gladly accepted the title. She was soon made Admiral afterwards.

She was a powerful woman and power was attractive. It was quite a match made in heaven for these two lovers. And love was everything that held them together and nothing more. Nothing more was considered, cared for, nurtured, or spoken about. It had seemed as if Akainu had forgotten his son and the storm of Kaito's fury begged to be let out but he had silenced it for 2 long years

It was a wonder how she had managed to get everything done by her looks and looks alone. She was respected by every underling of any marine and she was loved and hailed like a hero by every weak-minded marine. She was regarded as a positive force by the high-ranking officers because she motivated the weaker marines and even many captains fell for her charm

First, it was disrespect then it grew into something so much worse. Violence. And his father Akainu let it brew into that. He lived a life of folklore and beauty. He took her out on dates, in jasmine gardens and autumn walks. He lived a life of luxury and he considered her his greatest treasure. It was almost a beautiful love, that knew no bounds and knew no regret but it was in truth tainted. It was tainted a shade of red so cruel it was bloody. It was tainted with negligence
