Warnings- some talk of substances and addiction
"I'm here!" You yell to your girlfriend. You close the door behind you and start to walk to the back of the house where the bedrooms are when you hear Nat yell back, "I'm in my room!"
You and Nat always hung out after her soccer practice. It was usually at your place but her mom wasn't going to be home tonight so you convinced her to let you come over, seeing as you hardly ever do.
You walk into her room to see her sitting at the edge of her bed holding a joint between her fingers. Nat smiles at the sight of you.
You didn't say anything, but her room was messier than you remembered. It wasn't trashed, but you could definitely tell that someone who drinks and smokes on a regular basis lives there.
"Hey love, how was practice?" You ask her. "Fine." She says before taking a long drag. "Just fine?" You ask as you walk over to her.
She nods her head and you move to stand directly in front of her between her legs. You take the joint from between her fingers and set it on a little dish on her nightstand while she puts her hands on your hips and plays with the waist band of your bottoms. You place your hands on her shoulders and rub your thumb along her neck, making her look up towards you. "You look really cute right now" You say wrapping your arms around her with a giggly smile. She wraps her arms around your waist and hides her smile is your chest. "Shut up!" She laughs.
She then lifts you quickly by your thighs and flips you onto the bed. Nat kisses your forhead softly before standing up and grabbing the joint you left on her nightstand. You sit up on your elbows as your eyes follow her walking around the room. "Babe?" You ask her. "Hhm?" She responds as she brings the joint to her lips yet again. You sigh and shake your head, "Nothin'".
Nat moves to be seated at her desk and watches as you rise from her bed, and begin picking up trash around her room. Empty bottles, old cigarettes and joints, and empty bags. "What are you doing?" She asks quietly as you throw it all in her garbage can. "I'm just trying to help you." You reply sounding stressed. She sighs, sets down her joint on a trey, and walks over to you.
She takes your hands and pulls you close into a hug. After a few moments she grabs your shoulders gently and pushes you away to look at your face. "What's wrong, love?" she asks you quietly. You avoid eye contact with your girlfriend as you ask, "when are you going to stop?" She got a confused look on her face so you continued, "When are you going to stop doing drugs and smoking all the time? It scares me." she sighs and rubs her thumbs on your cheeks.
She takes you over to her bed and sits down with her elbows on her knees and her face in her hands. "It's hard babe. It's really addicting, plus it helps, you know?" she finally said lifting her head up. You rest your head on her shoulder, "If I help you, will you try?" You ask her nervously. She smiled. "Anything for you." you smiled and hugged her arm. She squeazed your thigh with her hand and kissed the top of your head.
She layed down on the bed pulling you with her. You layed your head on her chest and she wrapped her arms around you and began rubbing your back.
"I love you more than any addiction I'll ever have, you know that right?" Nat asks quietly. You nodded your head and said, "I know, but I love you more." You both laugh quietly at this and you take the chance to look up at her and see her smile. You lean in above her and connect your lips in a kiss you both wish could last forever.
