Laura Lee - Fever

Prompt Request - "You're burning up."

"Are you okay?" Lottie asks as I stumble into the locker room. "Uh yeah. Just tired." I lie, giving her a lazy smile. I slowly make my way to my locker, tossing my bag to the ground. My eyes squint as I put in the lock combination, pulling my locker open.

I peel my shirt off my warm body, falling into the lockers then to the floor. Nat runs over, helping me take my tangled shirt off my arms. "Dude what's wrong?" She asks, her hand on my shoulder. "I'm gonna pass out." I groan. "Laura Lee!" Nat yells out for my girlfriend.

All the girls are crowded around me now, trying to keep my awake and sitting up. "What happened?" Laura Lee asks, pushing through the team and falling to her knees beside me. "She practically fainted. I don't know." Nat tells her, backing away. "Hey, love. Can you hear me?" She asks, holding my face in her hands.

I smile, leaning into her hand and looking up to her. "Yeah.", I mumble. She takes one of her hands and rests it on my forhead flipping her hand back and forth. "You're burning up." She says, worry laced in her voice. I chuckle, leaning further into her hand.

"Will you guys help me. I need to take her to the nurse." A few girls help pull me up to me feet and off the lockers. Lottie and Shauna put me in a short sleeve button up while Laura Lee keeps me standing. "Okay, c'mon." She says, her and Jackie now holding me up, my arms around there shoulders.

I'm slowly walked down the hall to the nurses office, and layed down on a bed. "She has a fever." Jackie tells the nurse. The nurse gets me an ice pack and takes my temperature. "I'm going to call her parents. You're welcome to stay with her if she wants." the nurse tells us.

"I'm gonna head back to practice. Hope you feel better babes." Jackie says before leaving the office. Laura Lee makes her way to sit beside me on the bed, facing me. "Feeling any better?" She asks, nodding towards the ice pack laying on my forhead. "Yeah, a little. Thank you, L." I say weakly.

"Of course. I'm glad you're okay. I love you." She says in a whisper. "I love you too." I whisper back, my eyes starting to close and my smile getting harder to hold. I feel a light kiss pressed to my cheek, then the back of my hand.
