I'm taking in short choppy breaths as I see the masked figure run off. That was Ghostface. But that doesn't make any sense. I've studied him for ages. Those killers are dead. They should be at least. My mind is still racing and someone grabs my shoulder. I flinch but realize it's Sam. "Y/n you scared the shit out of me! C'mon we need to go, now!" She grabbed my hand and started pulling me away. I'm having brain fog, trying to understand the possibilities and what is happening. There are people panicking, police are arriving and Sam and I end up in Billie's car. "I don't understand why he didn't kill me." I whispered to Sam. "What do you mean?" she asked, catching her breath still. I start to explain the events that just occurred, but it was almost like I couldn't really remember them. Everything happened so quickly. "What do you mean? You're saying he scratched you with his knife but didn't harm you at all?" she asked, confused. I reveal the slightly raised scratch on my collarbone. It was red but no blood was drawn. Nobody said anything. Billie pulled into our parking lot. Sam, Darryn, Billie and I step out of the truck. "We're staying here tonight." Darryn stated. "How could we just leave Tatum there." Sam whispered. "She's our friend." She trailed off. "All we know right now Sam is that Tatum has a target on her back." Billie spoke up. "My priority right now is keeping you two safe." Billie seemed.. angry? All I could hear were sirens in the distance. Billie locked his truck and we started to walk towards our dorm. Sam and Darryn walked slightly ahead of us and I could see that Sam really wasn't doing well. "Is she going to be okay?" I whispered to Billie. "She should be. Her and Tatum are good friends, this has probably really shaken her up." he responded. "Thank you for staying with us. I do really appreciate it after everything tonight." We reached our dorm and made sure everything was locked. "I need to get some sleep." Sam sniffled. She looked really shaken up. "Goodnight guys." Darryn said as he and Sam walked to her bedroom. I heard the door shut and sighed a small breath of relief. Seeing Sam in that condition was strangely harder to process than what happened to me earlier. I walked into my bedroom and grabbed a spare pillow and blanket for Billie. "Here's a pillow and blanket, do you think it'll be warm enough?" I asked. "This will be fine, thank you Y/n." He started to make up the couch where he would be sleeping. "Please come get me or scream or whatever if you feel unsafe or need anything." He was really nice. I thought meeting Sam's friends would be more awkward but they really did just accept me as one of their own. I gave Billie a quick smile and walked back into my room. I undressed and stared at my quickly fading wound in the mirror. It was still red and raised slightly but it would be gone by morning. I put on pajamas and laid in my bed, just staring at the ceiling. I'm a criminology student, with a deep love for the stab movies. Those movies were set in Woodsboro, and based on a true serial killer. Am I a target just like Tatum? Why did he not kill me? A knock on the door interrupted my racing thoughts. "Yeah?" I called out. Silence. "That's strange" I thought. I softly got up and walked over to the door. I felt a sense of dread. I peeked out the door, but saw nothing. Billie wasn't even in the living room. I felt uneasy still but thought it was all in my head. I walked back into my bedroom and my heart dropped. It was him. The mask. on my balcony. I screamed. The figure dropped a piece of paper and fled. I continued screaming until Sam and Darryn ran in. "What? What's going on?" Darryn barreled past me. "He- He was on my balcony!" I exclaimed in between sobs. Sam held me and Darryn grabbed the note. "Where the fuck is Billie?" Sam asked. In that moment everyone paused. Where was Billie. Just as fast as we had the thought it dissipated. Billie ran through the front door. "Where the fuck were you!?" Darryn demanded. "That creep was on her balcony and you were mysteriously gone?" Darryn was getting angry. Billie's eyes went wide. He can see how this looks. "Hey man, I just went to my truck." He pulled out his keys to show proof. The tension started to fade. I shakily made my way to my balcony and grabbed the piece of paper. I opened the envelope as I walked back inside. I sat on my bed and examined it. The envelope was beautiful, it almost looked vintage. It was sealed with red wax. "That's..." Sam hesitated. "Interesting." Darryn finished for her. I pulled out the paper.

I can't stop thinking about you. My knife fit perfectly in the crook of your neck.

I handed the letter to Sam. We all looked at each other. "Is he being.. romantic?" Sam asked. "I don't know." I was still in shock. "That's  it." Billie walked out of the room, and quickly returned with his blanket. "Sorry, Y/n. I'm sleeping in here. It's too dangerous." I didn't speak for a moment. I blushed slightly as he crawled into my bed. "Fine. I need the protection apparently." Sam and Darryn just stared awkwardly. "It's okay guys. Go back to bed." Sam gave an awkward smile before the two rushed out of the room. "They were being really weird. Right?" I asked Billie. "Absolutely." He smiled. I double checked the locks on the doors and windows and climbed into bed next to Billie. "Thank you." I said quietly. "For keeping me safe." I whispered. "Of course." Billie responded. Billie lifted his arm. Did he want me to lay my head on his chest? Weirdly intimate but okay. I slowly put my head on his chest. I could hear his heartbeat. The last thing I heard before giving in to sleep was the thump, thump, thump of his heart.
