David:

As soon as the platinum blonde boy laid eyes on her, he knew that something was off about her. The way she strolled through the crowd on the boardwalk, her eyes scanning the people passing her– like a predator choosing its prey.
He knew that stare well enough. He would stare at possible prey the same way.

Slightly frowning, he nudged Dwayne, who was standing next to him. "You ever seen that girl before?" David asked curiously, pointing towards her.
One look at her and Dwayne frowned, shaking his head. "Never man." But like him, he seemed to notice something strange about the girl.

"You think-" David nodded. "I think she's one of us."

For the rest of the evening, the platinum blonde boy kept a close eye on the girl whenever she came across him, studying her every move.

Later, the boys were on their way to the secluded part of the beach, searching for their next meal. It had been a few days since they last fed and they became hungry again. Now seemed to be a perfect opportunity to feast.
"Hey!" Paul suddenly whispered-yelled, grabbing Marko's jacket and pulling him back, pointing at three people laying in the sand.
A grin spread on David's face as he nodded at Paul, approving.
Silently, they approached their prey, careful to be hidden away in the trees. Climbing up a tree, the four of them now had an even better look at the people.

For a moment, they were all just fixed onto their prey, not moving at all until suddenly, a shadow seemed to fall off the sky, directly onto the people.

There were no screams, just a single surprised gasp, as it only took a few seconds before every single one of them was dead.

The shadow was fast. Much faster than the four vampires that were watching the scene in front of them with wide eyes.
It was over as quickly as it started. And suddenly, they saw the figure clearly.

A grin spread on David's face as he recognized the girl from the boardwalk earlier. So he was right about her. She was a vampire. And a damn good one too.

"Holy crap," he heard Marko breathe out next to him.
David jumped down the tree, determined to get to know the intriguing vampire-girl.
"You just stole our food!" He called out, making the girl turn around. Fresh blood was still dripping down her red lips and a wildness was sparkling in her eyes.
The other boys have followed David and came to stop next to him, all of them staring at the girl in awe.
"I noticed you earlier," David cocked his head and pointed at her. "I suspected that you were like us. Glad that my suspicion turned out to be true."

Wiping her mouth clean, the girl scoffed. "So you're vampires as well?" She asked, her tone condescending.
The platinum blonde vampire nodded. "The name's David."
"I know," the girl chuckled. "I've heard about you. Glad to finally meet my competition."
David frowned. "Who said anything about competition?" He asked, "We vampires should stick together, shouldn't we?"
He earned another chuckle from the girl. "Yeah, right." And with that, she was gone again.

Dwayne:

"Hey man," Michael greeted Dwayne when he opened the door to his Grandpa's house. "Just you this evening?" Dwayne nodded and entered the house. "The others are out."

He followed Michael into the kitchen. Already from far away, he made out the voices of Michael's younger brother and a girl. "You have someone over?" He asked his friend and frowned. "Yeah, an old friend of mine is visiting us for a few weeks," Michael answered and opened the door to the kitchen.
"She's cooking for us today."

As soon as Dwayne entered the room, he noticed a girl leaning at the counter, chatting with Sam.
At the sound of the door opening, she lifted her head and Dwayne caught the glimpse of the most beautiful face he had ever seen.
"Hello Michael," the girl greeted his friend with a warm smile. Her eyes then settled on Dwayne and her smile widened. "You must be one of Michael's friends, right?" She began walking towards him, extending her hand. "I'm Y/N Y/L/N, nice to meet you."
"Dwayne," the boy nodded, gladly taking her hand in his.
"He's staying for dinner," Michael explained while sitting down next to Sam. "Brilliant!" Y/N smiled at him and went back towards the stove. "I'll be done in a second."
