AU Explanation
Anastasia Bridgerton, the only, lovable twin sister of Anthony Bridgerton, and the eldest daughter of both Edmund and Violet Bridgerton, was always clever. Her talents branched in all aspects and she found it easy to take up any new skill that is taught. The girl was known as a genius from a young age and brought great pride to her family.
So much so, that the Viscount began to secretly teach her the responsibilities of a lord, in order to prepare her should there be a day, when her brother needed help.
The opportunity to use these skills came all too soon, as Edmund passed on to the afterlife when Anthony was but fifteen, which led to the title of a Viscount being passed on to him when he had yet to properly mature. Unable to depend on their despairing mother, Anastasia took over the family despite her grief, managing her brother's education while caring for her siblings simultaneously. The heavy responsibility caused a delay in her debut, which lasted for two whole years before she was finally able to enter society.
However, marriage was the last thing on the girl's mind. Despite being crowned the diamond of the season, Anastaisa focused her efforts on, not finding a husband, but forming connections with the wives of the many officials in court, growing her influence with the help of her very first mentor, Lady Danbury.
Soon the girl had enough power on her hands that she had no requirement to marry, and, therefore, did not find the need to get a husband. Anastasia decided to remain unmarried until her brother was well settled in his position as a Viscount, leading to three years passing with unsatisfactory efforts.
Anastasia, in spite of her age, is still a very popular marriage candidate, as many lords could not wait to get their hands on the power and connections the girl holds.
However, their dreams will remain dreams, as not only is the girl headstrong on her idea of remaining unmarried, but she is soon to be swept away by the dashing yet carefree demeanour of the Queen's nephew, Prince Nicholas Alexander, who is finally returning to London after his travels.
