Lady Whistledown's newest issue set the ton abuzz with many regretting their absence at Vauxhall the night before, for not only had the Diamond of this season attracted the attention of the very well-known Duke of Hasting, her sister, the one and only Lady with the fan was seen dancing with an all too familiar face, garnering the eye of one the most eligible bachelors in town, the Prince of the North.
The lounge of the Bridgerton household must definitely prepare themselves for the crowd.
"I knew this would happen", Anastasia released a tired sigh as she read the contents of the paper.
"Well, on a positive note, you did not step on my feet yesterday, or at least, I did not bleed", Nicholas grinned. Strolling right beside the lady, he could not help the joy he felt at the thought of people perceiving the two of them to be a couple.
It did not feel bad at all.
"How very unfortunate", Anastasia shot him a look, "And I shall have you know I am a spectacular dancer. I have but lost practice".
"But did you not say that you were terrible".
"That is what I say to every man who asks", Anastasia grumbled, "I am a highly coveted prize, I cannot just dance with anyone in public".
Nicholas felt his gaze flutter as he looked at the girl with meaning, "And yet you danced with me".
Anastasia sensed heat rush to her face as she quickly avoided his gaze, "That was to uphold my part of the bet. Now that your wish has been fulfilled, I have done my part".
"What a shame", Nicholas appeared quite disappointed, "I was looking forward to the next ball".
Anastasia smiled at his response, "It seems my dancing has captivated you, Your Highness, to the point where you would wish to dance again".
The girl carried a teasing attitude as they walked, "Unfortunately you will not gain such an expensive pleasure once more".
The man found himself adoring her attitude.
"Oh my, but I have a lot of money you see. Surely, we can come to an agreement on the expense".
Anastasia hummed, "Well, I shall settle a price soon and we shall discuss the details later".
Nicholas chuckled, "Well then I look forward to it".
Anastasia had decided to accompany her mother and sister to the park today, as she wanted to keep an eye on her sister's budding relationship. Yet, instead of being an observer, she found herself walking beside Nicholas Alexander, enjoying a simple conversation as they toured the area. Nicholas had decided to accompany Simon when he realised that Anastasia might show up. As the two walked, conversation sprung naturally and by the time they had noticed, time had passed way too soon.
