If you were to ask anyone in the ton about the Lady with a Fan, even an errand boy could give you an answer. That's the name Anastasia Bridgerton had built for herself to protect her family after their father's passing. As the oldest sister and twin...

Dearest reader,
The time has come to place our bets, for the upcoming social season...
Anastasia was tired.
Watching the bustling servants that ran from one room to another to prepare their masters, she truly did feel tired. She was forced to arise early in the morning in order to prepare the servants and separate their tasks for the day before being dragged into her own bedroom to be dressed for her sister's debut into high society.
Daphne has been preparing all her life in order to live up to the name her sister had once created for the family, leading to loads of excited chatters for the entirety of the last week. Anastasia had to threaten her into sleep so that she would be prepared for the big day.
Indeed, Anastasia was tired.
"Mistress you must stand straight, otherwise the dress would not fit appropriately", Adele, her one and only personal servant advised as she continued fiddling with the beautifully crafted golden dress that Anastasia must wear today.
"Adele, have all the others been fully prepared and ready?", Anastasia asked as she followed her instructions, standing taller.
"Indeed, miss, the only ones left to arrive downstairs are yourself and Miss Daphne", Adele replied as she finally let go of the dress and adjusted her makeup, applying finishing touches.
"Daphne? Is she still not ready?", Anastasia questioned as she watched her maid scurry around her.
"Indeed. Miss Daphne is quite nervous, understandably so", Adele nodded, "I hope the outfit is to your liking, miss".
Anastasia turned around, gazing at the mirror as she watched her chestnut locks drape gracefully across her broad shoulder, complementing the gold details in the gown, "Wonderful as always, Adele".
The girl smiled at the compliment before ushering her mistress outside, "Well, it is quite late, my lady, you must make haste".
Anastasia shook her head at the girl's urging before making her way outside, only to pause at the doorstep, "I almost forgot".
She then walked back to the simple tea table located at the centre of the hall, picking up an exquisitely crafted shimmering gold fan, before turning to her maid, "Now then..."
Much better odds might exist in the household of the widowed Viscountess Bridgerton. A shockingly prolific family with a bounty of perfectly handsome sons and perfectly beautiful daughters.
Descending the staircase, an ongoing argument caught Anastasia's attention.
"Is our dear sister still not ready?", Benedict's question echoed through the hall as he walked towards his younger siblings.
