"So all the newspaper articles in that file are connected to this redevelopment project that happened years ago?" Ha Na asked.
"It seems so. But I just can't understand how all of them died within a year. It can't be a coincidence. And even if that is the case, does that mean the rest of the people who lived in that area are dead too? There should be, like, hundreds of people. That area was pretty big. There is no way that it would go unnoticed by someone if all of them died."
"You are right. That will be atrocious. But does that mean only the people in the file were killed? Why only them?"
"Ha Na, you think someone killed all of them?"
"I thought all of us were thinking that."
"Okay, I know that all this sound too suspicious. But are we really going with someone killing all of them? Doesn't it seem too farfetched?" Jackson said hesitantly.
"The cases are of wild variety to draw an immediate conclusion. There are suicides, accidents and even some missing cases. The first two could be written off as natural. They lost their home and probably a lot of money, which could act as enough motivation for suicides, and let's say that the accidents could be what it is..just accidents. But you put the missing cases and the other two together, it is reasonable to be suspicious of an external player."
"So only this thirteen? What about the rest of the residents?" Hoseok asked.
"Is it possible to get their details uncle?"
"It won't be that easy So Mun. With their names and address, it was easy to track the thirteen down. We don't have that here. I can ask the offices here, but there will be some problems. First thing, to ask the details of these many people, there will be a hell of a lot procedures and a lot more questions, and I don't have any valid reason to demand such files, making this officially very difficult. Second thing, I don't have many connections among the officers in Gangnam. If it were Busan or Seoul, or any other place, things would have been much easier. I have friends there in almost all offices."
"So there is no chance?" So Mun asked dejectedly.
"I didn't say that. I can ask around my friends, there must be some people they know working in here. But it's gonna take a little while. A couple of days minimum."
"Tha's okay. Anyway, we are going to be busy till this Friday. We won't be able to do anything much because of the competition." Jackson said. Oh boy, isn't he getting nervous? He had learned all the steps and movements, but it was nowhere near perfection. And he can't afford anything but perfect. He really can't disappoint Hope. The boy trusted him and chose him out of all the other dancers. If he loses because of Jackson's mistake, he will never be able to look in his face.
"God...I forgot all about it. Did you guys even get time to practice in the middle of this mess?" So Mun asked Hoseok.
"Hm, It's going well."
"Well, my ass. I am nowhere near good." Jackson slumped on his chair pouting. Hope couldn't help but smile fondly at that. "Don't be so hard on yourself. I had a year in my hand to perfect it. But you managed to pick it up within days. It is amazing." He wasn't just trying to make Jackson feel better. The man really surprised him. The amount of energy and time he puts into practising, even though he was running around with Hoseok to solve the case most of the day, is really beyond amazing. "We have a couple more days. We will be all good to go by then." He patted Jackson on the back.
"You guys are doing two songs, right? I heard they changed the rules this year."
"Yeah, they did. The competition is in two rounds. The first round can be either solo or group, but the second one has to be solo. "
