Morning came swiftly, almost as if it had never left in the first place. Given the recent situation, I knew we would have to wake up and soon and leave before we were found by the bounty hunters. And as usual, right on six in the morning, I awoke and began to prepare breakfast and woke up Ash. The breakfast consisted of Eggs, Bacon, Toast, ham and of course, milk. "Yum, smells good." Ash smirked his trademark devilish smirk. "Yeah," I responded smiling. "Are you sure you don't want to be a housewife, you sure cook like one." Ash smirked, quirking his eyebrow at me. "A desperate housewife you mean?" I said, jokingly but then I turned serious. "No, I am not currently looking to fall in love with anyone seeing as it is a too dangerous of a world right now, I mean the killers of my family are still out there, and it is only a matter of time before they find me too. I don't want my daughter to grow up without parents like I did...or my husband to be widowed because of my choice in lifestyle. There is just too many things that could possibly go wrong in a life where I choose to settle down." I said, softly. "Hn...I see." Ash said, quietly.  For the rest of the meal, Ash and I remained completely and utterly silent. When breakfast was finished, I cleaned up the dishes then Ash and I head out for the motorcycle, this time he got on first and I followed behind wrapping my arms around his waist... He was so warm.

"So, I saw the map, and I have a photographic memory, from now on i'll drive okay, Serenity?" Ash said, looking at me from the corner of his eye. "Well, go for it then, I don't mind." I smiled and he nodded, "Then off we go." He said, starting the engine and off we went. The journey took longer than expected, seeing as we had to stop for lunch at a restaurant because our stomachs were killing us, which didn't shock me that much. After all, even Nephilim  and Incubi need to eat. So we stopped at a Restaurant called "The Sportsman" and we found a nice table, sitting in the corner so in case some enemies were there, they wouldn't recognize  us right away. I ordered a hamburger and fries, and well-- Ash ordered a BLT also known as a Bacon Lettuce and tomato. Which I guess appealed to his tastebuds. Didn't quite surprise me.

When our food finally arrived, it was a half an hour later. We stayed here too long. So we ate swiftly and carefully. When we were finished  our food, Ash paid the bill quickly and off we went quickly. So, hopefully no one recognized us.  Anyways, We needed to get to our destination and soon. We had no time to waste, and we couldn't afford to stay at a Hotel either. But...from what I understood...Ash was becoming drowsy. Damn. We needed to hurry.  "Here, I'll take over, You are getting tired and I will get us there quicker." I said as he stopped the motorcycle. "Okay..." Ash said, and I got in front and he leaned on me, and off we went...faster to the destination. When we finally arrived, it was midnight. Damn, we shouldn't have wasted so much time at the restaurant. I should've known we should've just went through a drive through......Or wait...right we're on a motorcycle...like that would work.  We got off the Motorcycle and headed to the checkpoint, going inside, I noticed that Ash, plopped right on the bed falling asleep instantly, he really was tired wasn't he? Anyways, I sat on the chair and looked thoughtful. "We have more checkpoints to go, and I fear we might not make it in time...I just have the feeling that the bounty hunters are probably already hot on our trail. So I think I should keep watch,"  I thought to myself, looking over to the Sleeping Ash. "What did he do, I wonder...what has he done that would piss off some of the families..?" I thought, and what was the point in them coming and doing this? I knew who two of the families were, House Wintersong, the "Royals" They were absolute snobs, not caring much for anything...if no one listens to their rules, they come for you...ax in hand. Then there were also the Thadgrim. They were a family of bounty hunters, skilled and prone to winning fights. Well, usually. Sometimes they lose fights...as everyone does sometimes. But they were dangerous if pissed,

This was going to be a pain in the ass fight, and I am the one who has to conduct it to keep my charge Safe. And I would die trying to protect Ash. That was my duty, so I would do it right.  And i wasn't going to be scared off by potiential threats...I mean, What do I have to lose? My family is dead, and I had no one but the organization to rely on. They've kept me well fed, and everything ever since I first joined the organization.  And I was going to be forever loyal to them. That is my destiny, and my fate. and I shall do it right.  Even if I died trying.

Sighing, I finally figured it was time to go to sleep, We had a big day in the morning. The next checkpoint is farther...maybe about 17 miles or more, But...what I wasn't going to expect...Was an Ambush on the way.

It wasn't going to be the safest route, because the next route was going to be blocked because of Roadwork and yada yada, But I certainly had to try. I don't know how I was going to do this, but I was going to have to...and I would have to work hard. I finally fell asleep, nestled gently against my pillows and I was absolutely comfortable. But...I felt...cold. How was I feeling cold? I was under an absolutely warm blanket. How could I feel cold? ...I suppose that was an answer better left unanswered. I felt myself get up, and I tapped my hand on Ash's shoulder. "Yes?..." He asked, waking up and sitting up. "Uhm...Do you think I could..." I began but I bit my lip, "Nevermind, it isn't important. Go back to sleep." I said, walking back to my bed. What was I thinking? Ugh, if he is using his incubus powers on me, I was going to kill him. Protection or no Protection. I didn't want to fall in love, under any circumstances.

I nestled straight right back into bed, exhausted and confused...Then I wrapped my blankets tight against me, falling asleep.
