Chapter Nine | I See Ya Nephew!
Honey flushed the toilet, rose to her feet, and moved to the sink to rinse her mouth.
"I can't keep dealing with this morning sickness shit," Honey muttered to herself.
Honey was over it at this point. She felt so fatigued, sluggish, worn out, achy, and thirsty. Honey has to chug water before she goes to bed and still wakes up so dehydrated. Her lips will be so dried out and she's just continuously thirsty.
She also feels extra moody because the sleep has been so weird which has her snapping at people like Joe who just tries to be there for her.
Honey got dressed, frowning as she lazily put on her Loewe Paula's Ibiza Petal 90 Leather Sandals.
She stood up and checked herself out from the back in her mirror. She grabbed her phone and captured a boomerang with her swinging her hips from side to side before posing for some mirror selfies.
Afterward, she walked up to her dresser and sprayed some perfume on herself, and grabbed her W Legacy Micro Shoulder Bag. Honey mumbled along to Beyonce's Cuff It that was currently blasting in her room as she placed her jewelry on while swaying her body.
"While I buss it, buss it, buss it, for you baby, ayy! Oh, baby!" Honey sang along.
She applied some lipstick and smacked her lips together while she admired her lips.
"I know I'm gonna bless my baby with some beautiful lips," Honey said as blew herself a kiss.
Joe walked into the room, shaking his head.
"Girl, you up here talking to yourself while I'm downstairs in that hot-ass car waiting on you," Joe tells her.
"Oops, sorry," Honey said as she puts her lipstick in her purse. "I'm done. I'm ready to go," She tells him.
"You look good," Joe said, looking her up and down.
"Thank you, baby daddy," Honey said.
"I prefer 'Thank you, Daddy,' but it's cool," Joe said.
"I'm sure you do," Honey said.
Honey gave him a soft kiss on the lips.
"Let's go," Joe said.
He pulled her into his arms and kissed her, playfully squeezing her ass as they walked out of the bedroom.
"So, I'm meeting all of your family or is it the ones I already know?" Honey asked Joe as he helped her into the car.
Joe shrugged.
"Honestly, I'm not sure who's all there at the gathering," Joe answered.
"Oh," Honey said.
Joe was taking Honey to a family gathering at his parents' house. His family always has some type of party going on no matter what the occasion is. Joe felt like it was the perfect opportunity to introduce Honey to some of his extended family that she didn't already know.
A quick drive and minutes later, they stood in front of Joe's parents' home.
"If you feel uncomfortable let me you, okay," Joe tells her as he had a firm grasp on her backside.
Honey nods.
"Oh trust me the moment I feel uncomfortable we will be making a quick exit," Honey said.
Joe opens the door and they enter the house.
"Joe and Honey are here," Someone calls out.
Joe's mother rushes over and greets them.
"Oh, Joe, Honey, how are you guys?" Patricia asked.
Joe slowly moves his hand from Honey's backside to hug his mother.
"We're good, Mom," Joe answers for the both of them.
Honey also hugs Patricia.
"I can't believe you two are having a baby or should I say babies, just in case," Patricia teased.
Honey jumped.
"Oh no, I hope not. I can't push out two babies with his head," Honey said, jokingly.
Joe pouts.
"So it's just one and done. No more babies?" Joe asked.
Honey nods.
"Yup," Honey replied.
Patricia smiled.
"Don't worry, Joe, I'm pretty sure you and Honey will be having more kids," She said.
Honey shakes her head.
"Don't get his hopes up," Honey said as they follow her into the kitchen.
Patricia chuckled.
As soon as Honey enters the kitchen, she heads directly for the food spread out on the island counter and scans the platters. She licked her lips, ready to make herself a plate.
"Hold on, Honey Bee, the food ain't done yet," Summer said.
"Hush up, and let her make a plate for her and the baby," Patricia said.
"Sorry, everything smells so good," Honey said.
"Heightened sense of smell during pregnancy I do not miss that," Summer said.
Everyone laughed.
Joe wraps a hand around her wrist.
"I'll make you plate, go sit down," Joe tells her.
Honey shakes her head no.
"Nah, I'm good. I need to see you make my plate," Honey said.
Everyone laughs again.
"Oh, she doesn't play about her food," Myritza said, laughing.
"She almost choked me out this morning over taking a bite of her toast," Joe told everyone.
"Now why would you do that, Joe?" Vanessa asked him while shaking her head.
"That's what I said," Honey said.
Joe makes their plates.
"Go show her off," Myritza tells Joe.
"Come on," Joe said.
They make their way out of the kitchen with their plates and towards the backyard, where the party was taking place. Honey quickly said hello to everyone she knew at the party before Joe introduced her to the relatives that she hadn't met yet.
"Oh, you're so pretty," One of Joe's aunts complimented Honey.
"Thank you," Honey said.
"Okay, I see you nephew, I see ya!" One of Joe's uncles yelled out.
Joe smiled and waved his uncle off.
