Hayden's Pov:

I had just walked in the door and already didn't want to be home. My dad (adoptive dad) was sitting on the couch watching tv, and smoking a cigarette. Based on the stench, I could tell he was drunk. I tried to sneak past the living room and I was almost successful, but then I heard his voice, "Get your ass back in here before I beat it ten times harder than I'm about to."

I tried to make a run for it. As you can probably guess I was unsuccessful. He pulled me back into the living room by my hair as I writhed in pain. I just got beat yesterday I really didn't want to get beat again. He threw me onto the floor, and smashed his beer bottle over my head. It made a bunch of small cuts on my head and I could feel the blood running down my face.

"Where the fuck have you been!!" He screamed in my face.

"My teacher wanted to talk to me." I lied.

"DON'T LIE TO ME YOU BITCH!!"

"I was waiting for a friend," I whimpered.

SLAP!

My head flew to the side. He punched me in the stomach over and over. I thought it was over because it got quiet. I opened my eyes just to see him with a knife. Fuck! He straddled my stomach and held my legs down as he carved BITCH into my right forearm. I screamed in pain. Blood was pouring out of my arm onto the floor. I don't know what happened after that because I blacked out.

Clint's Pov:

Since I was at the compound doing nothing, I decided to text the mystery kid.

Why aren't you answering

I don't really know why she wasn't answering. Maybe she was doing homework. I doubt it but whatever.

As I continued with my day I got progressively more worried. At 11:00pm she still hadn't texted me. Weird but maybe she was super busy or got grounded. And if your wondering why i'm saying she it's cause it is a guess.
