Seonghwa hadn't thought much about Hongjoong not coming back to work yesterday. Nor did he receive a call from the acid blue haired man. He just assumed Hongjoong had gone straight home and would rave about what he found during work today.
"Hyung," a deep voice groaned from the door to their bedroom, pulling Seonghwa from his thoughts. Seonghwa didn't turn around, knowing full well that the owner was approaching him. His suspicions confirmed when two firm arms wrapped themselves around his waist, a sharp chin gently resting on his left shoulder. "You have to work today?"
"Yes." He turned to give the fire haired man a kiss on his forehead. "I can take Haneul to the daycare but I'm gonna need you to pick her up for me." his tone soft as he turned himself around in his husband's arms, placing a soft peck on his lips.
"Of course, my love." He moved his tired body to the barstool, pulling an already made cup of coffee towards himself. He watched as Seonghwa disappeared with Haneul in his arms, returning shortly after with her in a cute pink dress and tiny Velcro tennis shoes, ones so small they can fit in the palm of his hand.
"I'll see you later." Seonghwa still held the baby, walking towards the other, quickly pecking his lips.
"I love you." His morning voice still infiltrated his vocal cords.
"I love you."
—----
Just like Seonghwa had asked he went to get their daughter from daycare. It was normal for the other to be late getting home, but what happened when he returned, shocked him.
He'd been home for almost two hours. At the moment he was bottle feeding Haneul, her tiny lips smacking together after she pulled away from the bottle. He cooed down at her, his eyes sparkling as he admired his daughter.
Then a loud slam of the door alerted him, causing his body to jump up, protectively cradling the tiny girl in his arms. Only when he heard a small gasp did he allow his body to relax.
In the entry was Seonghwa, his body slumped over, evident that he was breathing hard.
"Hwa?"
The older let out a surprised gasp, clearly too distracted to realize his husband was even there. When he looked up and made eye contact however, he finally allowed himself to relax.
"Mingi, oh my god."
Mingi couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the sight, though his smile immediately fell when Seonghwa's expression remained down, dire, and worried.
"People are gonna-" Seonghwa was still having a hard time catching his breath. "People-hah" he let out a gasp, his heart moving too fast to speak even a few words.
"Calm down." Mingi walked to him, pulling the shorter one into a hug, Haneul in his left arm, Seonghwa in his right. He could immediately feel Seonghwa's tense body relax with the pressure from the hug. "Take a minute, then tell me."
Seonghwa nodded, taking a few more minutes to collect himself before pulling away, looking Mingi in the eye.
Mingi couldn't help but hold his breath.
"People are gonna start disappearing."
~Earlier that day~
After dropping off Haneul, Seonghwa went straight to work. It didn't surprise him when Hongjoong burst out of his seat, ran towards him and started yelling about what he found out.
"I heard something! I don't know what but I know I heard something!"
The blueberry continuously repeated, eliciting a pairs of rolling eyes from Seonghwa.
