I found Yunho and Yeosang in the dining hall, finishing up roll call.
"Everyone here?" I asked, looking around. All of the other members were younger, probably early twenties.
Yunho gave me curt nod, "Yes, sir."
I nodded back. "Gather all of the inner family for a meeting. We might be receiving retaliation soon."
Yunho nodded again, turning and hurrying off to gather the members. I turned and walked back the way I came, Yeosang soon falling into step beside me.
"What about Wooyoung, boss?" Yeosang's voice was soft and deep, almost like velvet.
"What about him?"
"You told him to deal with Hunter, no? Will he be part of the meeting?"
I turned to look at him with a coy grin. "You never seem to miss something when it comes to Wooyoung, do you?"
Yeosang was quiet for a moment. "He's my best friend, sir. Of course I'd be concerned."
I chuckled lightly, pushing through a door into an office. The walls are shelved with rows of books upon books, most that I've read, some untouched. I'm sure there are secrets upon secrets hidden in those books, but I don't have the time, nor the motivation right now to dig through them. Most of the books are fighting techniques or ancient torture methods. There are very few fiction books on these shelves, but they are the most treasured ones to me.
I run my hand along the spine of my favorite novel on its pedestal. A larger book about pirates on the seas, pillaging towns and robbing all. They lived a life of complete freedom.
By the time I stopped reminiscing on the book, which I have read more than four times, I turned to find the rest of my inner family gathered around the large table in the center on the room, standing and waiting patiently for me.
Wooyoung took a cloth from San's hands and began wiping red off of his own. But he had an exhilarated grin on his face as he watched me.
"Go ahead and take a seat," I said, waving my hands toward the other chairs as I took my seat at the head of the table. They all silently took a seat, Jongho to my left, Yeosang to my right, and then the other members sat wherever down the table.
"So," I began with a deep breath, leaning back in my chair. "I debriefed Hunter. And, let's just say, we're screwed."
"What happened?" Mingi asked, leaning forward. Mingi always had a liking towards Hunter. The younger boy was always very enthusiastic when it came to fighting and learning the weapons.
I sighed. "Hunter got too excited for his first solo mission. He left the window open when entering, and then didn't scout the area before trying to enter the data room."
"Who did he run into?"
"Jaehyun and Jisung."
Yunho cursed down the table. "The psycho and the sadist..."
I nodded. "They caught him and dragged him into the main area, where Taeyong found him. He managed to escape and get away, but no information."
"Fuck..." Mingi rubs his jaw. "So not only did Hunter get caught, but the leader found him too?"
I nodded again. "If we're lucky, the information will be double-guarded and they won't retaliate."
Wooyoung snickered, "When are we ever lucky, boss?"
"Where's the fun in luck?" I smirked, then continued. "If we're unlucky, they will delete the information, and not only retaliate, but get others involved too."
Mingi sucked in air between his teeth harshly. "That would be a blood bath."
I shrugged. "But that is the most likely option of what they would do."
Yunho looked around before landing on me. He asked, "Why is this information so important? Should we know?"
Jongho immediately opened his mouth, "It doesn't matter if we know or not. We do what we're told."
I raised a hand, stopping Jongho from continuing against Yunho. "This information had two perks to us. One, it showed all the incoming and outgoing shipments for them, as well as their territory and which territories they have a hand in. Two, it showed each and every alliance, as well as every feud they have, which we could use to know who to bring to our side, and who to be cautious of."
Yeosang suddenly speaks up, "What are you planning, boss?"
Jongho opened his mouth again, but I stopped him before turning to Yeosang. "I want more."
"More?" San asked.
I looked each and every one of them in the eye as I spoke. "I want more territory, more money, more power. I want to be respected. I want all of you, all of the boys outside those doors, to be respected and feared. I want every single mafia or gang to know who we are, and to be afraid of messing with us."
I could see some of their eyes beginning to spark and glow with the dream I had built in their minds.
"But in order to do that, we will probably have to fight a war." I grinned a little. "Are you all willing to fight?"
They all looked at one another, communicating silently. But I could see each and every word being said.
They turned to me and nodded.
My grin grew to an almost feral smile. "Then let's have fun."
