4:00 pm. Just on time to get ready and leave. My cellphone rings.

🎶CA-LI-FOR-NIA GIRL-!!🎶.

I answer the call.

"Yo Frank you coming?"

Han asked through the phone.

"Yeah I'll be right there in about 30 minutes or so."

I replied back.

"Aight cya there."

They end the call.

That was my close friend Han. They are Non-binary and only uses they/them pronouns. We say "Han" instead of "Hannah" for short. Ethan was the one who started it. When he first met Han he kept calling them "Han". Ethan told us that he's dyslexic and also has trouble remembering things. So we now just say "Han". They're fine with "Han" since they like how more simple it is than the name "Hannah". Either one is okay to use. I pack my gift, grab my car keys, and hop in my truck after I double checked the lock of my front door. I always make sure all the doors and windows are shut and locked tight in case anyone barges in. I was robbed before when I was only 8 years old. Apparently someone in our family didn't lock or close the front door to our house me and my family used to live in. My eldest brother, John who was 17 at the time would always go out usually at night. Probably to go get some snacks from the nearest 7-11. It was around the block so he'd skate there instead of walking. He loved skating. Anywear he would go he'd skate. He also had some weird clothes. And they were always baggy and not much colorful. I would describe it as y2k/hip-hop kinda thing. It wasn't the 2000's anymore though. It was year 2010. I'd say it was still appropriate to wear that at the time since the 2000's were only 10 years after. Now it's like..22 or 21 years ago from today now 2023. That seems way too long ago. I failed math class during middle and high school so I am sure I am WAY off the table. Anyway I gotta go now. I don't want my friends to think I'm an asshole for not attending when I told them I would.
