You Know Her

"Hey, Sam, I'm gonna need a ride," I heard Steve say through the communicator. My eyes glowed white as I levitated a few broken pieces of the Helicarrier and threw them toward more HYDRA agents.

"Roger!" Sam responded. "Let me know when you're ready."

I saw Steve jump off. "I think he's ready," I said. "A little warning next time, Steve."

"Sorry!" he shouted.

I created a portal and went through to meet the guys at the last Helicarrier.

"You know, you're a lot heavier than you look," Sam commented. He looked at me as the portal disappeared from behind. "Next time, you give him a lift."

"I had a big breakfast," Steve said as his excuse. Suddenly, Bucky appeared from around the corner and pushed Steve off the Helicarrier.

"Steve!" Sam and I shouted.

I raised my hand toward Steve but Bucky grabbed my wrist before kicking my side. My body went flying across the Helicarrier while Sam tried to jump off to save Steve. Bucky was quick enough to grab one of Sam's wings and throw him behind. Sam was able to regain his balance mid-air. He took out his guns and began firing at Bucky. I quickly got up and ran toward the edge of the Helicarrier before jumping off. I raised my hand again to create a portal under Steve once I spotted him. He went through as I conjured up another one above me. His body crashed into mine, which got me to stumble a bit as we slammed against the side of the Helicarrier.

"Sam's right," I grumbled. "You're heavier than you look."

Bucky managed to damage Sam's wings of his jetpack. My eyes widened when Sam was falling. I quickly created another portal so Sam could land on the rooftop of the Triskelion.

"Thanks, Rae Rae," Sam groaned. I took a breath as Steve got off me. "But maybe a softer landing next time."

"Would a bed of needles suit you?" I asked. It was a small threat, even though I know he's joking about it.

"This rooftop is lovely, thank you. Are you and Cap ok?"

"We're here," Steve answered. "We're still on the Helicarrier. Where are you?"

"I'm grounded, the suit's down. Sorry, Cap."

"Don't worry, we got it." Steve offered his hand, which I took. He helped me up before we went inside. Steve stopped when we saw Bucky blocking our way. "People are gonna die, Buck. I can't let that happen."

Bucky didn't say anything, which is stupid for Steve to think he would. Bucky was glaring at us and is just ready to fight. The man up there is not the same man Steve knew back then. He's different. Steve said he'll stop Bucky but if it came down to it, would he be able to do it?

"Please, don't make me do this?" Steve pleaded, his voice breaking. It was clear that Bucky isn't going to back down. Sure, Steve fought Bucky back at the bridge but this time it's different. I've been in Steve's shoes, once upon a time. I know what it's like to fight a friend who is supposed to be your enemy. I can't let Steve go through the same thing I did. I stood in front of Steve, ignoring the surprised look on his face. "Raven -"

I cut him off as I glanced back. "Get the chip," I told him.

Steve said Bucky and I were together during World War II. I know I wasn't even alive during that time period but Steve wouldn't lie about something like this. I have no memory of Bucky, whatsoever, and he has none of me. So if we fought, it wouldn't mean anything. It'll just be two people on opposite sides fighting.

I didn't give Steve enough time to argue with me when I laughed a dark beam toward Bucky. Bucky moved out of the way before he could get hit and pulled out his gun to shoot me and Steve. Steve used his shield to block the bullets as I flew out of the way. I held both hands up to create a dark cloak around Bucky before levitating toward the ceiling. Steve slid under before he brought up the targeting blade system. I tossed Bucky toward one of the poles. He grabbed it with his robotic arm and spun around to land back on the walkway. He pointed his gun at Steve but I flew over and crashed into him. Bucky kicked me off him before he tried to punch me. I moved my hand to create a small barrier. He tried to punch me again but swiped up another barrier before kicking his chest.

"Got it!" Steve shouted.

Bucky glared at me before he tried to punch me again. I moved my hand to conjure up another barrier but Bucky grabbed my wrist before throwing me toward Steve. Our bodies collided with the targeting system, which caused Steve to drop the chip. Steve grabbed his shield in time to block Bucky's punch that sent a loud ring inside the Helicarrier. I created a portal to go under and appear right behind Bucky.

My breathing hitched when I felt a burning sensation against my side. Everything started to ring in my ears and my vision blurred. My hands grabbed my side only to feel something warm and wet. Glancing down, I can only see red. A bullet hole punctured my side and my hand was covered in blood.

"Raven!" I could just make out Steve's voice.

Bucky lowered his gun before kicking me off the walkway. My body flipped over the support beam. I landed on the walkway beneath us. My back collided against the ground rather harshly. My breathing came out rigid as I tried to apply pressure to the wound.

Steve pushed Bucky off and began fighting him on the ground. He ran toward the chip and was about to grab it. Bucky grabbed Steve's discarded shield, then threw it at him. It managed to hit Steve's back and it send him tumbling to the ground. Bucky pulled out his gun and began firing at Steve, who grabbed his shield in time to block the bullets.

I turned around to lie on my stomach. Doing my best to ignore the pain, I stood up. My vision became very blurry as the world started to spin. But I fought through it because there is no way I'm going to die without helping Steve, first.

Steve hurled his shield at Bucky. Bucky moved in time to dodge it and took his knife out. He kept swiping at Steve, who caught Bucky's wrist. Bucky used his free hand to push the knife and stabbed Steve in the shoulder. Steve screamed before he repeatedly headbutted Bucky, which had to have hurt Bucky since Steve has his helmet on.

Bucky pushed Steve out of the way and ran toward the chip. Weakly, I raised my hand and levitated the chip before bring it to me. It landed in my hand that wasn't covered in blood. Bucky looked at me and was about to attack but Steve lifted Bucky by his neck before he slammed him against the floor. Bucky tried to kick Steve but Steve flipped them both until he got Bucky in a chokehold, his metal arm pinned to his side. It still left one of his arms free. Bucky pulled out a gun from his side and pointed it at me. Steve's eyes widened before he moved one of his hands and dripped Bucky's wrist as hard as he could, but Bucky kept fighting to pull the trigger.

"Stop, Bucky!" Steve grunted. Bucky was panting. "Stop, stop, stop. Look at who you're pointing your gun at." Bucky began thrashing around. "It's Raven. You know her." Steve tightened his hold on Bucky's neck, to knock him out, when he noticed Bucky was looking at me. "Come on, Buck... you can't forget your best girl."

I could have sworn I saw something flicker in Bucky's eyes when he looked at me. "Ra...ven," Bucky mumbled.

My breathing came out rigid as my body was slowly getting heavier. I couldn't hold my weight up anymore and collapsed, blacking out entirely.

3rd POV

They managed to get the Helicarriers to fire at each other instead of their targets. Steve's body was floating aimlessly underwater. Bucky dove in after him and pulled his best friend back to shore. After his fight with Steve, Bucky gained a small portion of his memory. So as the Helicarrier came crashing down he jumped after Steve, who passed out.

Bucky mentally felt relieved when he saw Steve taking a breath. He turned around to walk away but something caught his vision. More like another body. He found himself running toward her and knelt down to turn her body over. Bucky brought his hand behind Raven's head and gently held her up. Using his other hand, he cradled her face. His thumb began running against her cheek as his eyes scanned her body. Once his eyes landed on her side, he felt his heart stop.

Raven's was still bleeding against her side. Bucky grabbed the hem of her cloak and ripped it before tying it over her abdomen. He brought his hands down and carefully picked her up. Bucky turned toward the forest and began walking away, with Raven in his arms.
