Chapter 21

Rhys's POV

Yes I finally left the house today, it was crazy at first, it has been months I stepped outside and today I decided to do it.

First I went to the office, I wanted to surprise Elaine but she wasn't there, everyone in the office were shocked to see me, I know most of them heard about what happened with Trish.

Some gave me sympathetic looks, this was why I didn't want to leave the house when it just happened, because I didn't want anyone's pity, but now it didn't matter anymore because the one person that I care about her opinion doesn't look at me with pity and I'm okay with that.

I didn't stay long at the office because Elaine wasn't there, the next place I had in mind was to go to Belle's office, I had stylishly gotten the address from Elaine about a week ago, I didn't want to make her suspect anything then.

She was surprised to see me but more so she was happy to see me, I know they all didn't expect to see me out, her especially because I would have told her I was coming out but I wanted to see this look on her face, pride.

I want her to be proud of me for conquering one of my fears since Trish's death and she was.

I like Belle, yes I do, that I can't deny anymore
I don't know when it happened or how but I just found myself getting attracted to her

It was still too early to think about another woman like that but Belle made it easy for me and funny thing was she didn't even realize it.

I wanted to see Amber next but she explained Amber was home with her mom, so I guess I'd have to wait then.

I wanted to tell Belle how I felt about her but something was still holding me back, The Truth, the truth about what happened that night Trish died

If I wanted to move on, I had to let that go, I had to let it out and I'm not sure I was ready yet.

Dad had called me, apparently Elaine had told them I went out of the house today, mom was crying when she spoke to me, they called me on video call.

I could tell Dad was excited too but he tried to maintain his cool.

I was officially back as the CEO and work was a bit busy for me, I held a few meetings and the whole office welcomed me back.

My session with Belle was in 45 minutes and I know she always picks Amber up from school before each session, so I decided to surprise my princess and pick her up then take her with me to her mom's.

I picked up my keys and left the office, I was going to stop at McDonald's to get something for her to eat because me picking her up meant she wouldn't be going to her Grandma's place.

Wondering how I know her school? I asked her that the last time her mom brought her to my place.
I just asked her then, I didn't exactly plan to come pick her up but here we are.

I stood besides my car relaxing on it when I heard the bell indicating school day was over, my eyes was trained on the entrance, I didn't want to miss Amber when she came out

Just then kids started rushing out of the school, there were a whole lot of them, I was still searching for her when I heard her scream my name making my face break into a huge smile.

"Uncle Rhys"! She ran straight for and I bent to pick her up

"Hey princess" I said picking her up "how was school today"? I asked and she smiled at me before answering
