A couple of days later Harry invited Louis to dinner and he immediately accepted.

Harry was excited but he also wanted to impress him so he spent a whole evening going through receipts without being able to settle on something.
"Hi, dear."

He jumped. He had been so focused on finding something to make that he had totally missed that he wasn't alone anymore. He greeted Louis' mother.
"Hi."

"Louis loves pasta. I used to make this lovely spaghetti Bolognese that was his favorite." Jay said.

"Sounds perfect. May I have the receipt?" Harry asked politely.

He found a pen and paper and wrote it down.
"Thank you so much." Harry smiled.

"You're welcome." Jay said and disappeared.

Okay, Louis' mother and sister were being matchmakers. It was kind of weird and kind of cute at the same time, considering they both had passed.

He went to the store to buy some fresh rosemary, red chili, and celery sticks. The rest of the ingredients he already had.

He took a shower and got ready before he started with dinner. He looked at the receipt while he filled a pot with water for the pasta.

He finely chopped some yellow onions, carrots, and celery sticks and let the onions sweat in a frying pan with olive oils while he chopped some bacon.

He fried the bacon in a separate pan and added the mince to the onions before he began cooking the Bolognese sauce, adding two tins of plum tomatoes, basil, oregano, bay leaves, tomato pure, beef stock cube, red chili, cherry tomatoes, and red wine.

He added salt, garlic, and rosemary to the mince before he put in the carrots and celery. His kitchen smelled lovely from the herbs and garlic.

It was time to cook the pasta. Harry glanced at the clock. Louis would arrive any minute now. He poured the sauce over the mince and stirred before he added the bacon.

He set the table while the food cooked. Five minutes later the doorbell rang and he hurried over to open it. A smiling Louis greeted him. Harry hugged him.
"Welcome, the food is almost ready. Can I offer you a glass of wine?"

"Sure, I can always take a cab home." Louis said.

Harry hopes he would stay for the night but it was too early to bring that up. They walked into the kitchen and Louis smiled.
"It smells lovely. Reminds me of a dish me mum used to make."

"Uhm, don't freak out or get really sad but your mum gave me the receipt." Harry said carefully.

Louis stared at him in surprise and Harry anxiously waited for his reaction. He relaxed when Louis burst out laughing.
"That's fucking priceless! Me dead mum showed up just to tell you how to make her Pasta Bolognese?"

"Kind of, yeah." Harry replied sheepishly.

"Wow. That's pretty messed up." Louis said and sunk down on a chair.

"I should have made something else. I'm sorry." Harry replied unhappily.

"Of course not! I love that dish, and I love that I get to eat it again. She took that receipt with her to the grave. There was so much else to talk about when she was sick that we never thought about stuff like that. If you don't mind sharing the receipt me siblings would love to have it, me too." Louis said emotionally and wiped his eyes with the back of his hand.

Harry walked over to the counter and found the paper he wrote it down on. He handed it over to Louis.
"Thank you, Harry. What you can do is amazing. I'm a little jealous, a lot to be honest. What I would do to see me mum again. Me sister... Sorry, this became gloomy." Louis said and tried to smile.

Harry hugged him. He sat in his lap and wrapped his arms around him and they just sat like that before he remembered the food on the stove. He flew up and hurried over to take the pasta away.
"Shit! I might have overcooked it!"

He poured away the water and tasted a string of spaghetti.
"A little. It's okay I think."

"I'm sure it is." Louis smiled.

Harry found coasters and brought the food to the table. They filled their plates and Harty poured them some wine. Louis took a bite and closed his eyes.
"It tastes exactly like me mum's."

Harry tasted the pasta as well.
"It's awesome." He smiled.

They had a wonderful evening getting to know each other better. Louis ended up spending the night.
