Ch. 26: Back, then Forward

It had been a week since Izuku was told the truth about his biological parents, and everything was good. Izuku had even gotten the okay to go back to school, as long as he followed certain protocols. Such as; were a mask when in a room with more than a dozen people, and to sanitize both his desk and hands before and after touching anything. He must follow those rules to return to school, given his immune system was barely healed. Though he hadn't told his boyfriend the news yet. He wanted to surprise him along with the rest of his classmates. And in order to do that he had to tell Katsuki that he had an early doctor's appointment so the blond shouldn't stop by for breakfast. So, Katsuki had no idea that Izuku was going back to school.

"Alright, we're going to have a student come in today. So, please be on your best behavior, I'm taking to you Kaminari." Shōta directed at the yellow haired blond, who was on his phone possibly texting his best friend.

"Oh don't worry sir, I am on my best behavior." Kaminari smiled as he placed his phone down.

"Alright then, they should be here in a minute. So, in the meantime talk or whatever." Shōta then sat in his chair as everyone immediately started talking.

Katsuki on the other hand was pouting because he couldn't see Izuku in the morning and wasn't going to see him till tonight.

"Hey Bakugo what's wrong?" Kirishima asked his friend.

"Nothing."

"Wait is this about the guy you've been seeing?" Mina asked the blond.

"No." Katsuki responded a little too quickly.

"Okay, sure. Anyways who do you think is joining our class this late in the year?"

"Aizawa didn't say they were joining our class though." Sero pointed out.

"He didn't say that they weren't." She countered with a big smile on her face.

"I don't care wake me when the student leaves." Katsuki said as he turned around and sat in his desk with his head down.

A minute later everyone herd and saw the door open. Katsuki still had his head down and didn't want to bother lifting his head for some person he didn't even know or care for.

"Hey guys, it's been awhile." The person said through his mask.

Though almost immediately Katsuki recognized the voice. The blonde lifted his head with shock. Katsuki couldn't believe what he was seeing. His handsome, green haired, boyfriend was there in class! In an instant the blond stood up and rushed over the boy in the mask. Katsuki practically launched himself at Izuku, almost knocking him back.

"Oof! Geez Kat, you saw me yesterday." Izuku chuckled as he hugged the blond back.

"I still miss you." The blond grumbled into Izuku's neck.

"Wait! What in the world is going on?!" Someone yelled out. Izuku then let Katsuki go and faced the class to speak.

"I'm better now, I was very sick, so sick that I was close to dying. But I along with all my doctors and nurses, including my support people, I made good recovery. I'm now able to come back to school but, I have to wear this mask and I can't touch anyone or anything without sanitizing before and after. Only a few people are allowed to touch me such as my family,..." he gestured to Shōta and Hitoshi. " my best friend,..." pointing to Kaminari, " and my boyfriend." Izuku ended as he held up his and Katsuki's hands with their fingers intertwined.

"He's your boyfriend?!" Mina squealed at the blond who was now blushing.

"Yeah, he's the reason I'm alive." Izuku smiled as he confessed to the class.
