As Felix had adjusted himself within the iron carriage. It reminded him of his friend, Antilus' whimsical idea of a device capable of giving motive force to any object with little to no need for horses or beasts of burden.
He shuffled in his seat, trying to find the right position and posture in such a mechanical beast. 'I may never get used to this.' the Centurion muses to himself as he simply allowed the Professor to take him where he pleased.
During one of their meetings, the Professor had stated he would be taken to the Academia of 'Beacon'. Now why an academia of all places instead of a barracks or governor's estate, he knew not the reason for this decision; instead, rationalizing it to be this man's decision.
And judging by the background chatter of this place's guards and of his own people, he believed this professor is more than a mere scholar.
It wasn't hard to guess he held political power, enough to release people from their cells and put them under his watch. It wasn't hard to see from his hometown as he remembered fondly of a person back in hometown who did something similar, someone from House Scipio last he heard.
Not much could be said of them, but as he grew up, that became an interesting lesson for him, especially when having men of the Great Families of Rome, especially with the civil war.
Felix looked out the window with a tinge of worry.
'What will become of Rome in the war? I only hope that the Julii win it, bring about a new age for the Republic' he thinks to himself as he rationalized that it will be some time before the steel carriage takes them to the Professor's carriage, he'll get some shuteye
After a long day of query and questioning, he needed a break.
And so; Felix takes a nap.
(An hour later)
Soon enough, someone shakes him as he stirred his eyes open as he had felt the carriage stop.
"Mr. Felix, time to wake up now." Ozpin says to the Centurion who rolled his neck and shook his head before looking at Ozpin.
"Have we arrived?" he asks, receiving a nod from the Professor.
"Indeed so. And welcome to Beacon Academy." he says as he shows Felix the place.
And to say it astonishing was an understatement, the size and opulence of its spires and towers seemed to reach all the way up to the heavens, as if to reach the skies and commune with the Gods more directly. And this place was if anything big as a quarter of the city of Rome! Or at least can fit somewhere in that splendid city"By Mars, you reach up to the heavens!" Felix says in awe.
"Hehe, think nothing of it Mr. Felix. It's simply the work of many builders, and of my design." Oz says with a light chuckle.
"You built it" he asks
"Not without help of course." Ozpin replies
"Many builders no doubt would be needed for this." Felix says as he continued to look and as he did so; he spotted many boys and girls walking around wearing similar uniforms as would any legionnaire.
"They are the scholars you teach, Professor?" Felix asks
"Aside from my staff, yes. I teach them." Ozpin says with a smiles as a pair of students waved at them as Ozpin waved back and Felix immediately performed the Roman Salute, This confused the students who waved as they walked away
"A little advice here Mr. Felix. Don't stand out too much" Ozpin says
"If you must." He sighs as he walks with Ozpin and as they pass through the various, wide rooms and corridors, they stop at a door.
"Given your situation, I figure you would need help in technology, so I have brought you to a room that is a bit sparser, should still have the necessary things one needs in their room, I hope you'll enjoy." he says
"A room?" he asks as Ozpin nodded and opened up the room, showing a limited room, while no doubt similar to those of beacon, had only one bed, a bathroom, a small tv and kitchen and a complimentary Scroll for access to the room and communique.
"By Vulcan's anvil..." he says in slight awe, the room, while it may be subpar to the eyes of these people, was more than enough for him, moreso given that he had indeed fled the battle after it went badly for the Julii And if Felix's fellow comrades could see him, they would be jealous of him no doubt, they would like this room as he looked around the place and felt the walls with a hand; the material felt more like wood and canvas combined,
'Hmm, fine craftsmanship, simple,yet...what is the right description?' He asks himself 'Ah! It is modest.' he rationalized to himself
"Well, take a look around and if you need my services, you know where to find me." Ozpin says as he closed the door
Felix sighs as he looks around the room, figuring that this would take some time, especially in getting used to both himself and his life here until he can find a way back to Rome.
'Time to get accommodated.' He told himself as he set his personal belongings and weapons by the side of what should be a bed made of fine cloth if this realm's splendor is any indication.
If these people can easily make prison beds be somewhat comfy, surely the type of pillows and fabrics they have would be some of the finest seen.
He smiled to himself as he figured he could get used to the new housing he had been given.
And as he sits down on a desktop, looking at the wood with a sense of curiosity as he felt he could learn the trade soon enough, should he survive the war and the trip back to Rome and to the Julii.
But right now, he needed a break as he kicked back and rested his eyes
