Searching for love

"That's so cool! Tell me more about yourself!" Bede says while putting his head on his lap.

"Well, uhm, I." Hop has run out of thing to talk about. This Bede, seemed so interested in learning about Hop, rather than the Bede he knew who'd tell him to 'buzz off'.

"If you have nothing else to talk about we can lay down now." Bede says reaching up and holding Hops head.

"No, let's talk about you." Bede smiles and nodded his head no. Even this version of Bede wouldn't get Hop to know anything if his childhood, other that the chairman, was his adoptive father. "Why not?"

"I was an insensitive jerk and only wanted the chairman to be happy with my actions, so nothing cool about." Hop looked disappointed. He knew Bede was hiding something. "Ok fine, but you have to promise to tell no one, ok?" Hop promised.

Sonia could hear the whole conversation and was horrified, not only at the chairman, but all the things that Bede overheard him talking about. She felt bad putting him in this situation, but Leon was even more shattered. He didn't know that Bede, a child who's only older that Hop by a couple months, knew of what the chairman was doing and did nothing, because Bede thought it was normal as a kid. Leon and Sonia held each others hand, squeezing it as Bede kept talking.

"So uh, yea that's it." Hops face was horrified. He jumped onto Bede, giving him a warm embrace. He realized, this is why he pushed everyone away, not wanting to trust someone so much again, to be let down. Hop just stayed hugging Bede for about 10 minutes. When Hop pulled back, he noticed the rose jar was closed. Bedes face had tears in it. He never wanted to open up like this, he knew Sonia and or Leon could be listening. Bede jumped off the bed. "I'm sorry." He backed up, right onto the door, Leon opened it, knowing that it wasn't his brother hurt, but Bede.

Hop sat on the bed in disbelief, knowing all that time he was shunned by Bede, was so he could protect himself, and others, from the dirty, discussing, truth. Leon went after Bede, knowing he would be better at talking to him than Sonia. Sonia came in to the room with Hop.

"Are you ok? I didn't mean for this to happen. I, I thought I was doing Cupid a favor and tried to." Sonia was stopped, by Hop who was now ugly crying. He didn't mean to hurt Bede, he just wanted to know him. At this point, he had to trust that Leon would bring him back.
