Mads POV
We started watching Girl in the basement and Josh cuddled onto me. He knew I would be scared. We got to the part where the girl snuck out and then her father decided to disipline her by keeping her in a secret room that was locked from the outside world in there basement.
I held onto Josh's shoulder tightly and he grabbed me and placed me on top on him.
Josh: You ok?
Mads: Y-yeah.
Josh: You sure Mads?
Mads: I'll be ok. (assuring)
He kissed my forehead and laid me back on his chest. I continued looking at the movie and it wasn't that bad until her father raped her for the first time and she recived a baby. Soon enought she was stuck in that basement for decades and had 3-4 children. Although, one child was living with her mother and father upstairs.
This scared the shit out of me of how a father could possibly do this to his daughter. For sneaking out?!? This movie reminded me of that time where I got raped by a friend that I was very close with in the 6th grade. I never told anyone because I didn't want people to know me as a ruined girl. A 12 year old girl who wasn't a virgin.
I never even told Josh.
I hid my head into Josh's chest and cried a little while the father was screaming at his daughter.
Josh: Mads...
I kept crying into his chest.
He paused the movie.
Josh: Baby...what's wrong? Do you want me to turn it off?
Mads: No, no it's fine. It just reminded me of a experience.
Josh: You were locked in a basement?!
Mads: No...I was um- nevermind.
Josh: You mean you haven't told me this yet?
Mads: I didn't tell anyone...
Josh: Why?
Mads: Because then people would make fun of me or see me as someone I'm not.
Josh: What happened Mads?
Mads: I- I got ra-raped...
Josh looked shocked as fuck on his face. He couldn't even say anything without anger.
Josh: Who the hell did this?
Mads: It doesn't matter anymore Josh. That was in the 6th grade.
Josh: No it does matter Mads. That's illegal. They could go to jail for that.
Mads: It wa-
The doorbell rang and Josh went up to get it.
I heard a similair voice.
A voice I haven't heard in a long long time...
The voice I haven't heard since the 6th grade...
Payton Moormeier.
The same guy in the 6th grade who raped me.
I came up to the door to Josh talking to Payton.
I hid behind a piller in the kitchen and listened to their conversation.
Payton: Hey, is um Mads here by any chance?
Josh: Uh yeah...why?
Payton: Oh um- well she's kinda my um girlfriend...
Josh: That's not possible.
Payton: What are you talking about bro?
Josh: She's my girlfriend. That's what I'm talking about bro.
Payton: Sorry for lying Josh but I really need to talk to her.
Josh: Ok wait, I'll go get her.
Josh looked around for me and eventually found me.
Josh: Payton wants to talk to you for some reason.
Mads: NO! (whisper shouting if ykyk)
Josh: Why?
Mads: Bad timing but, Payton was the one who um- raped me...
Josh looked shocked and immedietly came back to the front door with a pissed look.
Josh: Look buddy, you better get the fuck out of my propety right now before I call the police and tell them you raped Mads!
Payton: Josh...it's not like that.
Josh: I don't give a fuck of what it's like! You raped my girl and this is your fucking punishment!
Payton: Ok geez, I'll leave...
Josh: Good.
Mads still looked scared but she walked back to the movie room and when I came back, I could tell she got more popcorn.
I walked over to her and layed down beside her.
Josh: Hey...
Mads: Hey
She was about to start the movie again but I stopped her.
Josh: Mads, you know that we need to talk about this.
Mads: I know...
Josh: Why didn't you tell me that Payton raped you?
I felt so offended. Why did Mads not feel like telling me?
Mads: I don't know how to explain this... Josh, I felt emabarassed. I felt used. Like after that happened I meant nothing to anyone. It was a hard time for me but I ignored it and I was able to move on.
Josh: But you didn't tell me...
Mads: I know...I was to embarassed and I didn't want to bring you into the situation.
It took me some time to process it and I finally understood. I would've felt embarassed too. I quickly hugged her and she cried on in my chest. I could feel my clothes getting wet but I didn't care. It must be hard for her.
We finished the movie for a few more hours and she fell asleep in my arms.
I quickly brought us up to my room and layed her down on my bed. I layed beside her and kissed her forehead.
Josh: Goodnight Mads.
We both fell in deep sleep...
She was finally my girlfriend.
