Phone Guy Dave AU

So Its Been Awhile

I always hate when writers do this and discontinue stories... which is why this isn't that. I've been looking over this story since the AU's revival in the Tumblr DSAF Rift Party Collab, and come to the conclusion that this story is far from my best work. To begin with, Book of Memories should have been an ending not a mid point, all goals are achieved and my later story would not have made sense. The Henry possession was weird, and I've decided Dave should become a phone a different way. The story is too short and disconnected. I got a lot more cool ideas for what to do with the AU in the future.

So I must say this is not a discontinuation. Not in the slightest. This AU will instead at some point in the future be revived in the much longer, much more in depth, much darker and much more generally cohesive form in the future.

My current idea is that Dave became a phone in a version of the Radical ending.

Basically Dave finds out Peter and Jack are related and feels weird about having Jack see him kill him, so he tells Jack to go to Vegas and wait for him, saying he'll be there in a day. Peter springlocks Dave and it just so happens the factory was coming to collect him at the time to scrap him, in a desperate bid, rather than sealing Dave off he reveals that he caught the serial killer to the workers in order to leverage his own survival. Dave is sent to the factory and turned into a phone guy and Jack simply waits in Vegas. Peter ends up owning the last location rather than all of them being closed because the company can't close his after what he did, and thus on a technicality he becomes the CEO. Jack ends up staying in Vegas for 30 years waiting the same way as Davetrap in the game, although it has an opposite effect as all the time waiting, doing introspection, and interacting with people allows him to actually develop empathy. Dave on the other hand for a number of reasons, mostly around wanting to feel useful, his traumatic childhood, and general self hatred, latches onto the Scott AI and ends up actually one of the better Phone guys because he's obsessively committed to the company, and is frequently used as a temp phone guy to get locations set up.

The story starts when Jack sets up a restaurant in Reno (to stay close to Vegas) (which another note, rather than Dave tapes in this AU there are Peter Tapes), and he looks through the catalogue and notices the fact there is a high rated purple skinned phone head whom he instantly recognizes and buys on the spot, and starts trying to get Dave back, which is much harder since Dave is subconsciously trying not to remember.

For other changes the Fazbender's brand is alive and decently well in this version he just asked to open a location under a fake name. Peter is not a bad CEO at all and does a pretty good job but the fact he has such strong morals meant he forced the owners of some locations to reveal the bodies to allow the parents to give proper burials and a lot of locations got closed but public perception is doing great because the CEO is so determined to fix the company legacy.

Jack doesn't know about the Flipside and Henry IS NOT in this. It's pure Davesport angst.

Also for final stuff to be changed, Steven might be alive, and Dave is a creepy bastard as a phone, even more then when he wasn't one.

So this will be happening sometime in the future, likely when the collab progresses further, and I can do more planning.
