Ruby rode Duke up to the starting line, and stopped. She leaned forward and whispered, "Let's do this." The buzzer went off and she and Duke flew across the grass. They reached jump one. The jump was a solid log about a metre twenty, and if you hit it, well it wasn't going to give in. Ruby slowed Duke down to a nice, forward canter. On their third stride they flew over it landing, making dirt fly.
Their second jump was a spread water jump. It was very large, but if you hit it you would bring the jump down with you. The pair galloped down to the second jump. They cleared it with ease and headed to the third jump. The third jump would be the most difficult jump of the course. It was a solid log spread, with a ditch the size of a normal sized 5 year old.
"C'mon Duke! We can do this." She whispered into his mane. She pushed him faster. They went for the jump, but Duke slipped. The pair flipped over the jump and into the ditch. Ruby fell under Duke so when they landed, Dukes weight rushed all the air out of her lungs. "H-e-l-." She never finished her words. Darkness slipped into her mind. She was out, she was out cold.
