Arthur's pov
I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on my door. At some point I contemplated if I should just stay in bed and that they would go away.
The constant knocking is starting to give me a headache and the person on the other side of the door seems so determined to see me so early in the morning so I lazily get out of bed to go and open it. I try my best not to make too much noise on the way since Grace is still in my bed, sleeping peacefully and I don't want to wake her up yet.
Last night she made me the happiest person when she told me she was coming with me. I hadn't planned on asking her to because all of this sounds so crazy. It hasn't been too long since we saw each other again after a whole year but I had become attached to her these past few days and I didn't want to go without her. It seems like I possibly can't. Her presence makes me somewhat calm and thinking of getting through this race season without her sounds like hell.
Last night, after we talked we both decided that the best idea was to go to bed. We cuddled the entire night until we fell asleep next to each other.
Once I'm at the door, I open it just half way because I'm still on my boxers not bothering to put anything on.
I blink a few times still sleepy but the sleep flies out of the window when I see the person standing outside my door.
Charles.
"Hey Art!" he says and gives me a smile.
"Charles! W-What are you doing here?!" I try to make my voice as low pitched as possible as I step out of the room and gently close the door.
"Hello to you too brother. I got you some breakfast, I thought we could hang out this morning since you disappeared last night." he chuckles and moves towards me trying to get in my hotel room.
Before he gets the chance to I put a hand on his chest and cover the door handle with my body, preventing him from walking in.
"Charles....right now it's not a good time."
He looks at me confused. "What do you mean?"
I just look at him, trying to come up with an excuse as to why I can't hang out with him but he realises it too quickly.
"Are you not feeling well?" He asks with his brotherly look and I just nod, not being able to form a single sentence, however it seems like that wasn't believable enough.
"Wait...is there someone else in there?" Charles says, his face shining. He gives me a huge grin.
You wouldn't be smiling like an idiot if you knew that your ex girlfriend is in my bed right now.
"Maybe." I say quickly, giving up on the idea of denying it since he caught me red handed and maybe, just maybe, this might make him leave.
"Is it a girl?" Charles says pushing me away and reaching for the door.
"Charles!" I say panicking when I see that Charles puts his head through the slightly open door.
I get into my room, pushing Charles out and trying to think of an explanation when I see he's not mad at me.
"Don't worry I couldn't see anything. Anyway, who is she?"
Luckily Grace was covered with blankets and only her head could be seen. I relax when I realise that Charles didn't see who she was.
"Nobody...just some girl I met at the club last night."
"Is that the real reason why you left so early little brother?"
"Get that smirk out of your face and get out of here." I jokingly push him trying to end this conversation. The sooner Charles leaves the better.
"Alright, alright! I'll leave now then. I'll see you on the plane?"
Me and Charles always fly together to get to our race's destination. The first race of the season is in Monaco which is special for me and Charles since is our home race. No matter how much I want to fly with Grace I can't. We can not be seen together yet.
"Yeah, see you then."
I give Charles a side hug and he turns to leave. I open my hotel room door when I hear Charles say "Oh nice boxers by the way."
"Fuck off." I flip him off and get into my room.
Grace is still sleeping. I get in bed beside her and I can't help but admire her features. She looks like an angel.
I give her a few small kisses on her shoulder trying to wake her up. If I could, I'd stay here with her all day but I still have to get ready and pack.
When Grace wakes up, we have some room service together and then I drive her home.
"I'll see you tonight." She says as she opens my car door.
"Promise?" I ask her because I'm still unsure if she will even show up. What if she changes her mind?
"Promise." she says and gives me a soft kiss on my cheek and then leaves.
