Grace's pov
"I'll call you later." I say and hang up the phone.
Arthur then brings our breakfast to bed, sits next to me and we start eating.
"Are you okay? You seem distracted." He asks with a concerned look.
"Yeah...yeah! Just thinking." I say as I take a bite out of my chocolate pancake.
What in the world was Charles thinking, calling me? Maybe it was a mistake picking it up. I should have just let it ring. But I had to know what he wanted, what he had to say. And I also just wanted to hear his voice...
I hate myself for it, but I've missed him.
I also had to lie to Arthur again. The reason of the argument we had was because he trusted me, and I lied to him, I let him down. I apologised and I swore to myself that I wouldn't do that again...but here we are.
"Are you free this afternoon?" He suddenly asked.
"I'm all yours." I tell him while I turn to look at him. "What did you have in mind?"
"I was thinking that it was about time I took you on that date." He says and smiles.

I started getting ready right away, picking out a short pink dress to wear and putting my hair half up half down. I wanted to impress Arthur tonight. He picked me up at exactly 6 pm, without making me wait and we started driving.
"So you won't tell me where we're going?"
"Nope, I told you, it's a surprise." He asks while he turns on the radio.
I can't help but admire him while he's driving.
"I hate surprises!" I whine.
He turn his head and gives me a suspicious look.
"Okay, fine I love surprises but I'm dying to know where you're taking me. I mean if you're planning to kidnap me, I at least deserve to know." I joke.
"I like you too much for that." He smiles. "Just try to be a bit more patient, we'll be there soon."
Arthur puts one of his hands on my thigh and I blush under his touch. He sees me turning red and winks at me.
Soon we get to the place and Arthur tells me to close my eyes. Then he puts his hands on mine, carefully guiding me to the place, which I assume it's near the beach, because I can hear the waves crushing into the shore. When he tells me to open my eyes, I'm left in awe.
"Did you...do all of this?" I ask when I see the little setup. There's a blanket on the sand, with lots of flowers and candles, the sun is setting and there's barely anyone here. It's perfect.
"If you're talking about the food, then no." He chuckles and brushes his hair behind his neck.
Is he nervous?
"You know I can't cook." He continues. "Other than that, I took care of the rest."
I run up to him and kiss him.
"So you like it?" He asks nervously.
"Are you kidding me? I love it."
We seat down and start eating while making conversation. Arthur finds every opportunity to compliment me. He is a sweetheart. He tells me about his childhood, and his teenage years and I listen and sometimes interrupt to ask questions.
