Previously: But I had not one complaint about it.

I woke up in the middle of the night, my mind racing from the latest dream I had. It featured myself and Henry again and appeared so simple yet so complicated. I first remembered seeing two figures running, and upon closer inspection, I saw that it was none other than Henry and I, but we were only 5 years old or so. We were running alongside each other.

Then suddenly I saw that both of us were slightly older now, and I ran forward, leaving Henry behind. Henry was relentlessly chasing me, but the distance between us only seemed to grow. When we were at the 11-year-old phase the distance between us was so great I was nearly out of Henry's sight.

But as we grew older in the dream, Henry was getting closer to me again. By the time we were 14 in the dream, I was within hand's reach for Henry, but for some reason, he never reached out to me. When we were 15, Henry finally reached out and grabbed my wrist. What came after that was the most confusing.

Henry grabbed my wrist and turned me around. He suddenly leant forward and pressed a kiss to my lips before I abruptly woke up.

My head was still spinning from the dream. I was feeling breathless as if Henry really had kissed me in real life. I looked down and saw that Henry was still fast asleep. I slowly pushed him off my body. He squirmed a little but remained asleep nonetheless. Realising that I probably wouldn't be able to sleep again after this, I got up. But I couldn't leave Henry on the floor, so I lifted him and placed him on the couch before walking away.

I wandered around the house aimlessly and entered the mini-library again. I saw a scented candle on the shelf. I lit it and took it around as a source of light. As I looked around, I saw another piece of paper. I picked it up and saw that there was another poetic quote written in it.

"Life shines its brightest in its darkest moment."
"If that's true, then you're the full moon on my darkest night."

I've heard of that quote somewhere, but where? I couldn't remember clearly. I went back to the couch with the candle in hand. I set the candle on the centre table and looked at Henry. He had a small frown on his face and was wiggling around as if he was searching for warmth.

I laid down beside him, and he immediately latched onto me, his frown morphing into a smile. I smiled at him and closed my eyes.

The scent from the candle, the warmth emanating from Henry, the snow outside, and the dim candlelight, all lulled me into a peaceful sleep.

I woke up again, and this time, it was morning. Henry was half asleep on top of me, and I decided to wake him up.

"Wake up, sleeping beauty," I teased.

Henry opened his eyes and rubbed them childishly. He mumbled groggily,

"Morning..."

He sat up and looked at me, at the couch, and again at me.

"How did we get up here?" He asked.

"I lifted you and placed you on the couch," I replied.

Henry kept looking at me, but he then turned away. He went to the kitchen and brought back a pack of biscuits and a box of pocky sticks. We ate them in silence. Henry left for his room, and I was alone again. I hoped our parents would come back today because we had very little food and water left.
