Hi everyone.

I'm extremely sorry for disappearing for almost two months 😕 I couldn't get myself to write after everything that happened in the drama. I also have my final board/GCSE exams this year so have been busy with studies.

But now my holidays have started so I will be uploading frequently 🤗. Thank you all for your immense support and helping this story reach 1.5 k reads! You guys motivate me everyday ❤

Enjoy !

She started the car and drove towards the house which was fairly near looking back at Murtasim every 5 minutes to make sure he was okay. When they finally arrived at the house, she quickly got out of the car and went to the backseat. She helped Murtasim stand up putting all his weight on her.

She enters the haveli to be greeted by a flabbergasted mai and a few other worried maids. They were genuinely concerned for their Maalik. Murtasim has always been there for his people and has helped them out in every situation. Meerab had noticed that anyone that greeted Murtasim outside family always had a spark of hope and gratitude in their eyes. They all looked up to Murtasim as their saviour and relied on him for their safety.

She was slightly relieved to see Mai. The last time she saw her was a few months back when she had come here with Murtasim. She needed some help with carrying Murtasim all the way to their bedroom.

This haveli was smaller than the main one but was still very big. It was slightly more modern than the other one as that one had a more traditional and antique feel to it. Maa Begum was always keen about traditions and so had not changed anything about it.

'Bibi ji, what happened to Khan!' Mai shrieked as she saw her Khan almost lifeless and covered in bruises and wounds. She was about to ask more when she noticed Meerab's bloodshot eyes and her face pale from crying. She didn't want to trouble her so quickly jumped in to help carry Murtasim to the bedroom.

'Let me help you bibi ji.' They both carried Murtasim to the bedroom and laid him down on the bed. Meerab quickly grabs a few soft pillows and puts them under Murtasim's head to support his neck and prevent him from straining himself. While she is adjusting his head her hand momentarily grazes against his forehead.

'Uff, he has a fever' she mutters to herself.

'Mai, can you please make some soup for him and bring a few washcloths and cold water.' She quickly instructs Mai before going to the drawer to get a thermometer. As Mai leaves Meerab rushes to Murtasim's side. She places the thermometer on his sweaty forehead. Meerab gets restless as she sees the thermometer flashing red and reading 43.2°C.

'Meri jaan, you have such a high fever!' she exclaims as she puts her hand on his cheek. Fresh warm tears roll down Meerab's cheek. She feels so helpless. Just then Mai enters with a big bowl of soup and washcloths soaked in cold water. Meerab takes the washcloths and places one on his forehead. She places a second one on his neck. He shifts slightly though still unconscious.

'Bibi ji if you need anything else just call me.' Mai says as she leaves. Meerab notices a lot of sweat on his neck. She quickly unbuttons his shirt in an attempt to reduce his fever.

Meerab has never seen Murtasim this up close. Although she has seen Murtasim shirtless countless times when he makes that short trip from the bathroom to the closet in nothing but a towel wrapped around him. She has never fully been able to admire his muscular body. One thing Meerab has noticed is Murtasim likes to work out, especially when he is stressed. His body has caught her attention several times before but she always looks away as if to appear unbothered.
