Chapter 15

It's a bit awkward sitting on someone's lap when they are not talking to you. George was sitting on Dream once again, because there was still seven of them in the car and despite Dream not even wanting to look at George, he refused to let him sit on anyone else.

So now George was sitting on Dream, but Dream kept his hands off George, and was looking anywhere but him. George had tried to speak with him, but Dream chose not to respond. He was mad for earlier, when he nearly blew himself up. Not that George understood why he was this mad.

Everyone else in the car was a lot less tense, they were getting closer to North Carolina and were desperate to stop travelling. Sapnap was driving currently, with Skeppy still sitting in the front with Foolish. Skeppy is certainly in a better state than when they first found the group, but he was still injured and drowsy. Not a great sign, but the others were keen to get back so he could get checked on.

"Ok, next question." Punz leaned forward. The group had been playing a question game to pass the time. "Would you rather have telekinesis, or flight?"

"Ooo." Sapnap twiddled his thumbs on the steering wheel. "Telekinesis for sure."

"Really?" Tina leaned forward too. "Flight for me."

"But you could maybe even telekinesis yourself! And you could fly." Foolish chimed in.

"That's not how telekinesis works."

"Says who?"

"Alright, next question. Would you rather get bitten and turned into a zombie, OR get burned alive." Punz said.

"God, Punz." Foolish snorted. "How dark."

"Burnt alive." Tina said.

"What? That is horrendously painful, isn't it?" Sapnap said.

"True, but then at least I wouldn't be a zombie, killing. What if I killed someone I loved?" Tina pointed out.

"Besides, turning is painful too." Foolish said.

"It is?" Dream asked, listening in. He hadn't seen anyone turn.

"Oh, yeah. There's phases to it as well." Punz said.

"How do you know that?" George asked curiously.

"We've all seen it. And tried to stop it."

"You can stop it?" Sapnap's eyes widened.

"No." Tina said with a frown. "Key word try."

"What happens when you get bitten?" Sapnap then asked, and the lighthearted question game turned darker.

"Well, the first moment at the bite is painful, obviously. You just got your flesh torn into. But then it goes numb apparently. That doesn't last too long. Just long enough for your veins to start turning black from the bite site." Tina began explaining.

"Then it's extremely painful. Like fire in your blood. Begins at the site and spreads around your body. From what we've seen, this makes the victim pass out." Punz continued.

"Once out, the person is boiling to touch, but shivering and sweaty. This lasts for a while." Tina said.

"It's a weird stage. It's like they are unconscious, but at the same time can sometimes respond to what is being said. The eyes stay shut though." Foolish added.

"When they wake up, they aren't the same. Bloodshot eyes, darkened veins across their body, twitching. The talking stops here. Then their body starts to decompose from there, as I'm sure you've seen. It starts at the bite site." Punz said.
