The very next day, the group went to Richmond's main train station. As expected, there were dozens of FBI controls all over the place. Fortunately, as promised, Méndez had handed over their fake passports and ID's, so it wasn't difficult to deceive the agents.
Once they passed the controls, Matt, Amiya and the rest got into their train. When it departed, they saw as the outline of Richmond's tall buildings faded in the horizon. Now, they could only wonder what could await them in Boston...
-Finally, Boston! Home to all of America's think tanks and the mythic Red Socks!! – exclaimed Matthews.
Amiya, the Doc and the rest were looking around in amazement. Although it wasn't as crazy as New York or Lungmen, Boston was still littered with towering skyscrapers. The Charles River ran through the middle of the city, its waters frigid and deep.
While all of the tall building and skyscrapers extended on the eastern bank of the river, the MIT complex was located on the opposite side. One could easily make out the famous Dome Building, proudly standing on the western bank of the Charles. It was a true sight to behold.
-Hm... Quite the lovely city. – thought W. – I like it.
-Yeah, I agree. – Said the Doctor. He then looked at Matt. – Now, you said that your friend worked around here, right?
-Yes indeed. – replied Matt. He pointed across the river, to the Dom. – See that building over there? It's the MIT campus. We'll surely find him there. – He added with a confident tone.
Will gave out a small sigh. – Alright, while the rest stay here, Matt will go inside and talk with Alfred, seems good to you?
-Seems good enough. – said Talulah.
Wait, I'll go with you! – let out W. – A little company won't hurt, right?
-... Fine. – Gave up Matt. – But if you come with me, put this on. – He gave her a hat.
-And this is for what? – inquired the sarkaz.
-You're not from this world, remember W? This way we can hide your horns and stand out less.
-Tch... Give me that. – She grabbed the hat and, with a bad face, put it on.
-Ok, now you go. We'll wait for you here. – Said Edward.
-Okie doki. – Confirmed Matt
And with that said, the couple departed for the MIT.
The moment they set foot on the university grounds, they were greeted by the imposing neo-classical style buildings and the cramped groups of students scattered around the place.
Contrary to what Matt had expected, nobody seemed to pay attention to their presence. Those few who did frowned at the look of W, but soon they went back to their business. With this, Matt and W walked around undisturbed and went inside the main building. Suddenly, as they were entering, an absent-minded student bumped into W, making the two fell to the floor. The guy started to mutter apologies, all while he picking up the books he had dropped.
-Sorry! I'm very sorry!
-Ugh... - W helped him, and then she stood up. – Next time make sure to watch your step.
-Sure! – The boy walked away.
----------
-Uff... I was lucky she didn't go mad at me... - the student had an expression of relief. After taking a small pause, he took a look at his books to search for any possible damage. That was the moment he noticed something...
