In a distant life, one would be walking down the isle, and the other would stand with an overwhelming sensation of bliss. The girl and the boy would finally have their desires fulfilled; they would be legally intertwined.
Together, they would be the beau idéal of partners — a paragon at its finest. Fingers interlaced with each other, lips refusing to part...
It would all be a beautiful sight, however this was not the life they were living. They were living as rival thieves in the night, contenders in the mafia, adversaries in hell. They were not made for each other, and this was nothing but obvious.
They were braided in false hope, as all young boys and girls were. "I think he's the one!" He was not.
Most people oftentimes mistakenly believe they're in love with a person, when they truly just desire the compassion they are offered.
Alayah did not agree with these thoughts. These thoughts could not be true, in her eyes.
"But I could be..." She murmured under her breath. In her mind, she practised what she would say to the sub when she showed up with tears streaming down her face. Vulnerability had finally struck her, and she shared these feelings with Daniel, just to be betrayed by something he would deem a humorous remark.
And she hated how she loved it.
It was such a Daniel thing that she couldn't complain. The man she had such deep affection for, she knew how he struggles with feelings. Maybe him jerking off in the hallway onto King Charles was his way of releasing his pent up sobs.
ドキドキ — her heart beat as she sobbed loudly. She wanted to (s)cream. She wanted everyone to know how much pain she was in, but she would rather tie a noose around her neck than experience telling someone about these feelings. Even Danielle didn't know about these fucking feelings that were filling her with such bittersweet trepidation.
She was a paragon of deep requited, but undeserved, love. At heart, truly, she tried to put exclusive faith in herself and she tried her very hardest never to make herself feel like she relied on anybody else, but nevertheless, Daniel made her feel this way.
"FUCK YOU, DISHA!" She screamed, weakly yet sharply shoving her fist into the brick wall. The way she spat his name as if she were Veronica "Ronnie" Bennett locked away with Phil Spector once more... it was unfitting.
She loved him, or at least she thought she did.
"Alayah?" A weak, low voice trembled; familiar, yet the familiarity was distant in her weakened state of mental stability.
Right now, she almost hoped for a frontier psychiatrist. She wanted to express her feelings, but not to the voice who she needed to inform.
Despite not consciously being able to name him, she knew who was talking. "Go away," She spat.
"I–I didn't know you were there, 'layah—" He attempted to explain himself.
"Fuck off, Daniel." Unlike before, these words were fueled with venom.
After a moment, he dragged himself over to her. "It's 15cm, by the way," He quipped. She did not laugh. At first.
They both frowned at each other for about thirty seconds, before erupting into laughter. They had a tendency of doing things like that: laughing in each other's company. No matter what the situation was, count on Daniel and Alayah to start giggling.
It was at that moment Alayah started choking on her laughter. Why was she so pissed? This was the most funny thing to happen in her lifetime.
"No way is it that big!" She said in between breaths, almost embodying the skull emoji. "You're a dick, Disha."
"You love it," He teased. Alayah merely hummed in agreement.
His eyes lit up, as he looked down at her lips. He wasn't ashamed anymore. She knew what he was doing, and she allowed it.
Before you can say knife, he cupped her face in his hands, and gently tugged it towards him. Like a shot, their lips accost with each other. Unlike last time, they both knew the other wanted it. This kiss would be the beginning of their paragon love story.
And they were so fucking enchanted.
